Wow no this is never the case. They would've had so many questions about who the killer was, why, were they also in danger etc.
At least with suicide there can be some closure.

He first tried it by getting into a head on collision. He survived.
He then went out behind their house and shot himself in the head but called the police to let them know so they would find his body instead of the family.
But dude, if you are gonna go don’t try taking someone else out with you.
I imagine the places he was in mentally were pretty dark
