Aquas - Do you have the gift for gab?

I notice that Aquas just seem to make friends everywhere they go. You guys just make it look so easy to connect and make friends with people. It's difficult for me and I'm jealous!!

So am I right or wrong about it being so easy for this sign?

Aqua Suns, Mercury, Venus have this trait, and it is easy to make fellow travelers. I use that term rather than friends or acquaintances because truthfully the people we meet are not quite at the former but above the later. Therefore I like to think of them as fellow travelers with me on the particular strip of the journey I am on. As they disembark for their own journeys I will see other people come on board, always coming and going are the masses of people in my life, that I treasure the ones who stay with me.

SO has lots of aquaintances, only a few friends. But everyone knows him. Aqua Sun/Venus. He's way more talkative than I am. He can talk about anything, and often talks my ears off.

Yep! If there's one talent I have, it's that gift of the gab. I make friends effortlessly that I don't even count that as a talent.

Don't take it for granted.

In some ways, as an Aqua, I can explain it, but at the same time, in other ways I can't explain it.

We just simply enjoy conversation. And b/c we are confident in our own views, opinions & perceptions, and b/c we aren't ones to dumb ourselves down for the sake of fearing that others will think we're know-it-alls, it seems that others notice and feed off of that confidence.

We're quick thinkers. Quick on our feet. A convo with an Aqua can be about the weather 1 minute, and NASA's new project the next minute. We bring out the intellectual in others, and they love that, especially if they're used to talking to people who talk a lot, but really say a whole bunch of nothing.

When others talk to me, my demeanor is relaxed, focused & non-judgmental, and people subconsciously see/feel that, and therefore are comfortable opening up (even if we not once let them into our personal lives).

It's just a gift that I've always had. It's hard explaining it myself b/c it's not like I try to hard to pull it off. I'm literally just being myself.

I think you're right, though. The relaxed, non-judgemental thing is pretty prevalent and people aren't afraid to talk because they're not afraid of being judged or having someone make them feel stupid if they say the wrong thing. That's the perception that I have as a non-aqua anyway.

I was never really a conversationalist like my fellow aquas but I do like to play wicked experiments. Not that I came to any conclusion but most people like to chat, usually about a common misery e.g. the bus was late again, how shit work was and whatever current news events are circling the social media. Talk about one of those, if not ask about them, or just flat out talk about yourself.

People will respond.

Plus I've worked as a bartender/barista for so long now so banter is part of what I must do lol.

When I said make friends easily, I meant it from the point of view that other people walk away from an encounter with an aqua thinking they have just made a new friend.

But if an aqua is talking to someone for a long time, that means there's a connection.

wasting time with small talk is not Aqua style

@Aquapiscescusp Ummm, I can only speak for myself if I'm speaking to someone for a certain amount of time it's because I'm picking at how the think and evaluating if this person is someone I can relate with. Honestly, I haven't yet to meet a "shy" Aqua. I am a cusp as well 1/20 Cap/Aqua

Yes, they do...

I can strike a convo with just anyone, and wouldn't quickly call those people friends,they just people to me even when some of them may think I wanna be their friend. To qualify as my friend you must be special and I must really know you in and out before u get on my list. Because the less the cycle of friends I have the easier my life will be. I've had large groups of friends when I was younger but it was tiring , the gossip, secrets to keep, and being judged for my unusual ways of doing things was just not worth it!

Beacause I cant get a fvcken word in lol thats why! hahaha

& No I love watching him socialize with others, I love seeing how kind and funny he is with other people, its a huge turn on to see what his genuine self is like around others, around people he doesnt know and wouldnt have a qualm being totally honest to.

^^ No but usually if Im adamant about it hell shut up and listen long enough for me to get HALF of my thought out and then he will continue UGGGGh LOL its so frustrating. Im a natural listener, hes a natural talker but there needs to be balance LOL. Hes learning though.. Hes learning..

That Aries mars will only go so far. Mine has the Aries mars too, and especially when we're with other people I can't ever speak (well, no one can). It's engaging when you only have to do that for an hour or two, but living with a motormouth can actually very frustrating at times. Sometimes I come off bitchy when I need him to HEAR me (Leo mars). I've just gotten used to letting him blab away. With some topics though, I just zone out after a whille and wait until he's finished talking. He doesn't even notice when my eyes have glazed over. It's not something I'm happy about but if you know what I'm talking about you'll understand.

We've sort of figured out how to work around those issues, and when we're both mellow and having conversations, it's brilliant. I love it.

This sounds exactly like the Aquarian Im talking to. He'll call me to "talk for a FEW minutes & to say goodnight" cut to it being 3 hours later and hes still going on and on and on about God knows what hahaha. I just "aha" and "mhm" every once in a while haha

@Aquastic I soooooo agree. My circle of friends is small. Do I have acquaintances of course! I love to just enjoy the moment. That's basically it.

We were having a conversation once about the importance of demonstrating to other (and each other) that we care. I asked him how he tangibly shows people he cares about them, and he proceeded to reply for a solid ten minutes without answering the question. Every question or request would have a 20-minute preface. I thoroughly enjoyed back-and-forth banter and deep discussions about world affairs, but 7 times out of 10 I couldn't have cared less about whatever random garbage he was talking about.

Gonna go out on a limb with this suggestion, but give him some weed to smoke. You're both old enough for it to not lead down some slippery slope. The effect will be marvelous, he will shut it in a minute, because the brain can't handle the 3 million thoughts racing and speaking at the same time.
