Aquas are only compatible with Leo when they have Pisces and other fire signs in their personal planets which is enough to render them an immature fantasist and juvenile. I know this Peter Pan Aqua man who is very immature and possibly having a mid life crisis. Although for me, I have never gotten along with Leos romantically. They’re in my no-go zone. Friendship wise, it’s great with women! I’ve had a lot of female Leo acquaintances and attract these ladies easily. However, I just don’t see the Aqua/Leo axis working.

Idk. If his mom is sick and as you stated, he was tending to his sick mom. His mom was and is priority.
When you're in that kind of situation, you have to attend to a family member that's sick, you're almost torn between what you want to do and what you have to do amongst other responsibilities that come with that.

But when the aqua man spends 2 months ‘building our relationship’ (his words) and opens up about an uncaring childhood, and comes to you telling you his mother refuses to acknowledge his help (she had a stroke) and belittles what he’s doing for her (she’s always belittled him) it makes me question why I was so easily dumped when all I heard him say was how controlled he felt by his mother! Work that out x

If I were you I'd offer to help out with his Mom and then make her fall in love with me and then start ignoring his ass.
Next time don't let someone put you on the back burner for 3months. A break, sure. But being held in limbo is not cool.
