I need some insight please...

I've been visiting my hometown several times a year now. The last time I visited, I posted some pictures on social media. A friend from Jr high that I had a brief childhood make out session with. Mind you, he rarely responds or likes anything I post on social media besides a HBD on my birthday, or a rare and random "like" etc ....anyway he responded "are you here?...it's been sooo long, I would love to see you" and then left his phone number (for everyone to see) in his post. So I said "I'm actually leaving and on my way to the airport, maybe next time."

And that was that for several months..during that time, barely no communication except for when I asked him about flights because I am planning an overseas trip (he travels quite a bit) and he answered them, ended with he'd be more than happy to help me any way he can, and so a day later I asked another trip related question...and he wouldn't answer me, so I'm like...ok, this guy just leaves you hanging and I quit asking any more. So other than that, he would just see most of my stories on social media with little to no communication. So I'm back to visit my hometown again. Not gonna lie, I was hoping he'd hit me up b/c I am curious to see him. I posted a pic on social media of me at the beach earlier in the day, and again he responds but it was late at night. Here's our communication.

Aqua: wait, you here?

Me: Yes I'm in town. Do you know of any nice restaurants? (I hadn't been back to visit home in years prior, really built up the area)

Aqua: Nothing is open right now. ( like I said he responded late, he assumed it was that night I wanted to go) and I had no idea you were here again.

Me: I just got here last night and will be here for a couple weeks. Are you at the beach right now?

Aqua: Yes, I wish I would've known you were here.

Me: Well I was out for a run. I was bummin it, and sweaty so I'm glad I didn't run into you.

Aqua: Well none the less I would like to see ya.

Me: It has been a long while hasn't it.

Aqua: A life time in some places. lol....

Aqua: I want to see you

Me: but it's almost midnight....is anything open or people out at this hour

Aqua: There are some house parties, I'm home right now. Where are you?

Me: I just showered and got ready for bed. I'm staying at my parents while I'm visiting.

Aqua: I live by the beach, on so and so street

Aqua: So I'll see you in 20 min? (insert laugh emoji) *obviously being playful

Aqua: It's not late...it's not early either

Me: I really can't, I can ..but I'm really tired from travelling, and I woke up super early today then ran 6 miles just now AND have to get up early tomorrow. Wouldn't you want me coherent?

Me: Don't you see my stories I post?

Aqua: Come show me

Aqua: I'm kidding

Aqua: kinda

Aqua: I want to see you

Me: I can feel and see that

Aqua: Do you want to see me?

Me: I do

Aqua: Quite a condundrum

Aqua: I wake up early too

Me: So why do you want to stay up late to see me? I woke up at 430am today. What time do you typically wake up?

Aqua: It's only midnight. Normally I would be waking up at around 630am

Me: No house parties for you tonight

Aqua: No I'm home sweetheart ( sweetheart? what's that about )

Me: My mom got me into this show 90 day fiance...thought of you

Aqua: HAHAHAHAHAHA I love that show

Me: I figured you would be on that show with someone who barely speaks English

Aqua: that show is embarrassing for Americans but very funny

Aqua: Do you want to see me? No stress no nothing

Aqua: Watch a comedy and laugh?

Me: I said I do (his name)

Aqua: Good

Me: Why do you want to see me so bad....right now at this hour

Me: this guy from Moldova is such an asswipe (I was watching 90 day fiance)

Aqua: it is not just right now...I had no idea you were here so since you are, I really want to see you. You might not come back any time soon. So...because of that I want to see you now.. ** even though I mentioned I'd be in town for 2 weeks earlier.*

Aqua: i got them all on my DVR, cmon over (insert laughing emoji again)

Me: lol, you're funny

Aqua: nothing nefarious. I have not seen you in soooooo long omg

Me: I know, so what's one more day, or two or three... maybe we can go for breakfast, or drinks somewhere this weekend

Aqua: so you're not coming?

Me: do you like breakfast?

Me: No I'm not, I am really tired. Besides I don't even have a rental car. I didn't bother getting one when I arrived. I should've, I typically do but didn't for some reason.

Aqua: I was going to uber you

Me: What? (laughing emoji)

Aqua: I was planning to call you an uber, I assumed you had no car here

Aqua: I really want to see you...is that bad?

Me: Have you been drinking ? (laughing emoji)

Aqua: yes 4 hours ago, lol

Aqua: stop making excuses

Me: I'm not making excuses (his name)

Aqua: Texting is awful, when I typed that I was thinking or hoping you would know I was kidding

Aqua: I'll have you home bright and early or we can have breakfast

Me: (laughing emoji) you are relentless

Aqua: Persistence is a virtue, and I've had a crush on your for like 25 years

Me: You probably get your way all the time with all that persistence

Aqua: Honesty is a virtue too

Me: Do you know how many times I've heard I've had a crush on your for so and so long? *seriously, more than I would like to count, it's like a person #1 tactic it seems

Aqua: I'm here, you could be here also

Me : You probably get your way all the time don't you?

Aqua: Don't say that. I don't think I can have my way ever. You might be surprised at the man I am now

Aqua: or you can make excuses.... (angel emoji, and laughing emoji)

Me: You are terrible (laughing emoji) Honestly, I'd probably be too tired to notice anything. That's how tired i am

Aqua: if you came over we could just fall asleep in each others arms

Aqua: if you wanted to be here you would be here right?

Me: oh in each others arms huh? (laughing emoji) * I felt like he was trying to be slick

Me: I do not want to uber there (his name) ..it's really late and I'm very tired

Aqua: You would be on the way. I look at things from both sides. If you wanted ME to come over and I procrastinated you would blow me off

Aqua: I understand

Me: Oh really I would blow you off, you know that how?

Aqua: because if you asked me to come to you I would

Me: Woud you really want me to come over to just crash out when I get there...that would be rude, don't you think?

Aqua: I wouldn't want you to crash immediately. I wouldn't want you to stay up late. i'm tired also but falling asleep beside you and waking up next to you sounds really good to me.

Aqua: Ok gotcha

Me: Besides I know we go way back, but don't you think inviting me over from the get, is a bit forward.

Aqua: that was not meant to be that deep

Aqua; Hey nooooo problemy, nooooo worries

Aqua; I think you are great

Me: You are confusing me now

Me: I've always thought you were too

Aqua: I'm actually being straight forward and honest

Me: I remember when I very first saw you....do you?

Me: I have a long memory

Aqua: Yes

Me: You do? Tell me then

Aqua: Goodnight gorgeous (happy emoji)

Aqua: When you find the time I'd like to see you

Me: Yes you're straight forward and honest, but you backpedal sometimes

Aqua: I'm here

Me: You didn't offer to come to me, you wanted to uber me to you

Aqua: You said you were at your parents house

Me: But anyway goodnight since you don't really remember when we first saw each other *me teasing

Me: So what if it's my parents house, I'm a grown woman. I can leave

Aqua: I like you and care about you. I definitely do not want to argue with you

Aqua: uber says 15 minutes

Me: Who's arguing?

Me: No

Aqua: Be nice, geeze

Aqua: When I see you posts or messages it always makes me smile. I hope I do the same for you.

Me: tell me when? (us seeing each other for the first time)

Me: you don't remmeber do you (laughing emoji)

Me: It's okay ( laughing emoji)

Aqua: The gym but even b4 that I saw you...b4 you even noticed me

Me: nope, that wasn't it.

Me: we were young, I think i was 12 or 13......wow!!

Aqua: I must've been 14 (laughing emoji)

Me: i think you may have been 14 or 15....but the first time I saw you and from the looks of it, it was the same for you...we were at McDonald's after a football game.

**we seriously spotted each other in that huge crowd, and stared lol

Aqua: see this is what I'm talking about. if you were here we would be laughing like crazy and cracking up together. that is all i wanted tonight.

Aqua: i miss ya

Aqua: I'm a terrible texter obviously. If you want to see me I'm here.

Me: did i ever tell you i'm a terrible texter too. I actually have to wake up in 4 hours

Aqua: Get some sleep love

Me: So I'd be impressed of the man you've become huh? Good to know

Aqua: I don't know. I've been through a lot and that shaped me

Aqua: be nice

Me: Well people go through things that shape them, you're not truly living or growing if you don't have life lessons. I know too many people who have had it easy

Me: I can see you have a love for travel

Aqua: I have broken my legs and arms. I have been run over by a boat, and hit by a car. I've had 12 surgeries and been stabbed in the throat. I've had Dengue fever, the Chikengunya virus, and MRSA. I've almost died or been killed a dozen times

Aqua: goodnight

Me: What? You're kidding? Don't play. Even Hollywood can't make this up.

Aqua: Unfortunately it's true

Aqua: I really hope to see you

Aqua: (give me his phone number again) if you want to actually talk or something

Me: OMG Jeff I'm so sorry

Aqua: (smiling emoji)

Me: I have you number from when you posted last time

Me: yes we definitely need to catch up. But goodnight for now, we both need some rest

Aqua: I'm free all day tomorrow. Goodnight

Messaged him the next day because I had plans with my family

Me: Whens your birthday. I know it's early Feb, but what day? I've also seen the pics of you in the hospital with the slash on your neck. I can't believe you survived that kind of assault. You're a very strong,& lucky person. ....*crickets*

So at this point, he was either playing with me and/or he just decided to back off, or he's mad at me for not calling him that next day if he was expecting me to....or he's trying to cut out social media as a way of communication so that I will reach out and call him, and see him.

It's just from my POV, he had ignored my messages to him even before I came, and then when I'm here visiting, he's up my ass to go see him the other night. I told him, I won't be able to see him until the weekend. Mind you, I'm still working while I'm here (brought my comp) and I have tons of plans with family,. So now he's back to ignoring my messages and he mentioned he hates texting or messaging. I'm not sure what to do at this point, not sure what he's thinking or feeling....should I reach out? I'm just not sure now.

Well apart from missing the obvious sarcasm and banter he was trying to have with you I'd say he means what he says about catching up with you. Either you do or don't it's that easy.

It's like that with a lot of my aqua friends really, set a date, location, if they can't oh well.

And really don't read into it at all, you'll never get anywhere with that.
