I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I've been waiting for this moment, all my life, Oh Lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
Well, if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin, I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies

And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, Oh Lord
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment all my life, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
Well I remember, I remember don't worry
How could I ever forget, it's the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, no you don't fool me
The hurt doesn't show; but the pain still grows
It's no stranger to you or me

And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord...

Genisis are/were the monsters of '70's progressive rock and I loathe them.
Did you ever see the ridiculous costumes they wore on stage in the '70's.
If you ever come across a Genisis record or cd,do the humane thing-Kill it!

this song was written because when phil was younger he saw 2 boys fighting from a distance and one of the boys got pushed off a dock and drowned and the other boy didn't jump in to save him...years later phil invited the guy that killed the other boy to his concert and sat him right in the first section and sang this song right to his face and that night the guy went home and killed himself.

hmmm, I heard that was an urban legend...he said it just came to him one night, the way any made up story would, and he wrote the song.
