I used to work in waitressing, moved to assistant manager/hostess for a restaurant close to 4 years, then worked as a receptionist for a hotel part time, and then worked in an insurance company for 7 years. all this began in my teens, I started working at 16 years old. then during my 20s while working, finished college full time. so I was extremely BURNT out. plus was in a relationship as well. I did some gallery painting work with one of my dear friends years ago before my marriage, and my most recent work before being stay at home was work at school. then I did some home studying and online courses which I passed finally and now we're waiting on our vacation for two months to the U.S. it's gonna be part time vacation because most of the visits are to visit gravesites for our loved ones who passed, and also taking care of the elderly. my husband will be returning earlier to go back to work.

Studied up until I was 28 anything design related. During which I did freelance and work for a few corporate and government agencies here. Did a cafe and bar job in between contracts and study during all of that time. Even tried a Call centre for shits and giggles for Playstation (it was shit).

I mainly freelance and collab work now and I guess the more artsy side vs corporate design. Main day job is an operations/trainer for a franchise of a cafe/bar mix business and when I can I tutor some university students in physics/maths and help out with project assessments at my old design college.

Soon... I don't know haven't really planned out what I want to do yet but there's still things left unfinished in the design industry that I want to learn and possibly start my own bar later on down the track.

I forget, but it was my biggest hobby before astrology, was that I was a writer, and did some writing on the side. I may get back to that again later when I get back home.
should! I've started doodling again! Funny enough for someone who works primarily in illustration I don't draw a lot of my personal work anymore. It's refreshing to remind yourself of what you use to love.

there's a lot of people getting laid off still.

just recently a huge corporation went bankrupt and tens and thousands of people were laid off. it happens all the time.

our neighbors on both sides, even down the street are people in their 60s but they were laid off for YEARS ...they NEVER reached their 65th year for retirement funding.

when that happens you don't get full benefits when 65 comes around.

so these poor folks get FORCED fired, due to economy, in their late 50s early 60s and they cant find work anymore. they get some money from the company laid off, but not much....

not as much as when you get to 65. it's a shame really.

apparently it's everywhere, the mass layoffs in the U.S.

http://moneymorning.com/2015/03/06/u-s-layoffs-more-than-103620-announced-in-2015/

U.S. Layoffs in 2015: 103,620 and Counting
â—¾International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) has been dismissing rumors that it will slash some 100,000 jobs – or 26% of its workforce. That would be the largest mass layoff at any U.S. corporation in at least 20 years. The tech giant doesn't traditionally talk about job cuts, but layoffs have begun. And Alliance@IBM, the IBM employees' union, says it has so far collected reports of 5,000 jobs eliminated. This year could see as many 10,000, according to the latest rumors.
â—¾Target Inc. (NYSE: TGT) said March 3 it will cut several thousand jobs over the next two years as part of a $ 2 billion cost-savings plan. No specific numbers were given, but the retail giant's officials said they wanted a "simpler and more nimble structure." In mid-February, TGT announced it would slash 550 jobs from its Twin Cities headquarters.
â—¾Hewlett Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) said on Feb. 24 that 2,800 people "exited the company" during the quarter that ended in January. To date, 44,000 have been cut under HP's 2012 restructuring plan. When all is said and done, HP's headcount is expected to be slashed by 55,000.

I didn't know Target (I've been to that store) had a lot of people laid off.

I've been painting and selling in Art Galleries since I was 12. Got my BA in Art/Exercise Science. I'm a licensed Personal Trainer, which I did for a few years while painting, when I was younger. The last 3 years I've managed and run a sports physical therapy clinic for semi and professional athletes. I also do marketing for several sports companies...I still paint and sell in upwards of 30 galleries from Florida to New York.

My best guy friend is an Aquarius. He owns his own bakery.
My Aqua cousin owns and runs a boutique for animals
My Aqua GF does Marketing for Belk
My other Aqua GF is an Athletic Trainer at a College
