am i being mean?

ive been talking to a guy since april. literally only talking. we met once at a friends birthday, then we facebooked, then we emailed, & now he finally wants to go on a date. he's a cap and i bet he thinks the slowness is SO freaking awesome but ive been the one slow to respond due partially to lack of interest but mostly my full time job & going to school full time year round. he's very nice & i like being pursued & i kinda remember thinking he might be cute but seeing as it was like 100 years ago since i saw him im not sure. normally when i meet someone i know im into them that second. this just kinda feels exhausting. is it mean if i dont even give him a chance?

Try not to think of it as a date - just a hangout. Removes the pressure/exhaustion aspect maybe.
