1. Edwin Landseer Lutyens, OM, KCIE (29 March 1869 ? 1 January 1944) was a leading 20th century English architect who is known for imaginatively adapting traditional architectural style s to the requirements of his era. He designed many English country houses and was instrumental in the design and building of New Delhi. He was born and died in London. He was named after a friend of his father's, the painter and sculptor, Edwin Landseer. For many years he worked from offices at 29 Bloomsbury Square, London. He has been called the greatest British architect.

2. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (born Maria Ludwig Michael Mies) (March 27, 1886 ? August 17, 1969) was a German architect.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, along with Walter Gropius and Le Corbusier, is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture. Mies, like many of his post WW I contemporaries, sought to establish a new architectural style that could represent modern times just as classical and gothic did for their own eras. He created an influential twentieth-century architectural style , stated with extreme clarity and simplicity. His mature buildings made use of modern materials such as industrial steel and plate glass to define austere but elegant spaces.

3. Norma Merrick Sklarek (April 15, 1928 - ) born in New York, New York. She is an African American architect where she earned B. Arch. from Barnard College (part of Columbia University). She was the first black woman to be licensed as an architect in the United States with certification in the state of New York in 1954 and then in the state of California in 1962. She was the first black woman to be elected Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 1980. Another first, she was the first African-American director of architecture at Gruen and Associates in Los Angeles, CA and she also worked with the Jon Jerde Partnership.

In 1985, she became the first African-American woman architect to form her own architectural firm: Siegel, Sklarek, Diamond which was the largest woman-owned.

4. Richard Joseph Neutra (April 8, 1892 ? April 16, 1970) is considered one of modernism's most important architects. He was famous for the great attention he gave to defining the real needs of his clients, whether he was commissioned to build a simple house or a mansion. Neutra had a sharp sense of irony.

5. Robert Sensman McMillan (b. April 4, 1916 Hibbing, Minnesota-March 14, 2001) was an architect who was one of the founders of The Architects Collaborative. He was a part of TAC its founding date in 1945 until he left in 1963. Follwing his departure from TAC, he started his own firm Robert S. McMillan Associates, which concentrated mainly on projects in Africa and the Middle East. McMillan was educated at Yale University School of Architecture.

6. Mario Botta (born April 1, 1943) is a famous modern architect born in Mendrisio, Ticino canton, Switzerland.

He designed his first house at age 16, although no-one mentions if it was built, and studied at the Liceo Artistico in Milan and the Istituto Universitario di.

Giuseppe Terragni (April 18, 1904 - July 19, 1943) was an Italian architect who worked primarily under the fascist regime of Mussolini and pioneered the Italian modern movement under the rubric of Rationalism. One of his more famous works is the Casa del Fascio which was begun in 1932 and completed in 1936; it was originally built in accordance with the International style of architecture in Como, a town of Northern Italy.


9. Fazlur Rahman Khan (Bangla: ফজলুর রহমান খান Fozlur R?hman Khan) (April 3, 1929 - March 27, 1982), born in Dhaka, Bengal (now in Bangladesh), was a Bangladeshi-American structural engineer.
He is noted for his efficient designs for Chicago's 100-story John Hancock Center and 110-story Sears Tower, the tallest building in the United States since its completion in 1974.
