hahaha...aries insanity. the freakin story of my life, and the reason why every bad thing has ever happened to me. lol

well, for starters i find that controlling the temper outbursts is very, very difficult. there are times when you just won't be able to control them. its best if NOBODY is around when you are freaking out...or you will probably lose some friends. lol

i have a punching bag in my garage and it is perfect in times like this. but what if you are at work you ask? then as quick as you can, go for a walk. you must burn off the anger in a physical way. when you get back you probably won't be as mad anymore.

this technique of physically releasing all that negative energy works very well for me....besides, it's been shown that angry people have a higher rate of heart disease, and we don't want to have heart attacks now, do we?

also, i guess time is on our side in that after you have blown up a few time with disasterous consequences, you will soon realize that it's just not a real good thing to let keep happening over and over again, ya know? i guess you mellow a little too as you get older which helps.

i also read somewhere that aries should stay away from stimulants and alcohol as it tends to make us worse. seems to make sense.

good luck!!

excellent replies, all. personally i have been taking walks more, after work or just whenever i have free time - its nice to explore the city but also feels damn good to get physical and just walk walk walk. i used to be a runner, and while thats no longer a hobby, i love feeling my legs work!

"also, i guess time is on our side in that after you have blown up a few time with disasterous consequences, you will soon realize that it's just not a real good thing to let keep happening over and over again, ya know? i guess you mellow a little too as you get older which helps."

btw, find this chunk of writing TOTALLY true and helpful. hope for the future is what it gives me! i can already feel myself learning to deal with the freakouts, but this solidifies my thoughts.

and yeah its nice to get guaranteed release through stimulants (alcohol, tobacco, drugs of preference) but ive been finding more and more that these dont really help for long. even walking to my favorite new bookstore 3 days in a row, i was tired/bored of the place. so maybe not so much becoming an alcoholic as constantly trying new things/finding new outlets? not just for freakouts but just excess energy in general.

yeah, its the damn excess energy that gets us every time. it's like there's always this volcano getting ready to erupt (given the right circumstance). i think the challenge for most of us in life is finding a constructive (or at least non-damaging) way to get rid of the pent up energy. make sure it's a healthy one, or then it backfires on us (hence the drugs, and alcohol).

meditation doesn't hurt either. just my experience though.
