Hi, I have a gemini ascendant and I feel that I even though it is the social ascendant, I feel largely ignored by a lot of people, in a group my opinions don't seem to matter and I can say something and people just nods and seems to forget about it. Is this normal for gemini rising? I use the rising because these are people I have just met.
Gemini Ascendant largely ignored
Thank you, what you described sounds so right.
But I have found a way around it, if in a group, there is a person who seems earthy, I will pitch the idea to him/her and let them spread the idea around, so much easier.
Still a little sad that anything that comes out of my mouth is pretty much nothing though.

Well- mercury would be your ruling your planet-
So- you probley come off to others as highly intelligent.
Considering most people- are pretty retarded
I could see you having to "pitch" thoughts to someone- for them to "spread" or translate for others.
That's what it sounds like is happening anyhow...
Idk i'm not a Gemini ascendant- but i certainly don't agree with the "little kid" "superficial intelligence" line of thinking that many associate with sign.

Posted by brandypHello, my sun is in Libra and my Moon is in Gemini.
Damn ou can't even get attention on DXP, rough. Well I will respond bc I am gem asc too. I think a lot of ppl feel like they aren't heard, not just gem asc so I wouldn't necessarily attribute it to that. What's your sun and moon?
Gem ascd are supposed to be really chatty, do you talk a lot and assert your opinions or are you just hanging back silent? Gem ascd can be very positive, but a lot of people like positive types. I don't think that's a bad thing.
I do talk a lot of people who are relatively closer to me, but in a group, or that group I am mainly just saying what I need to say, that is small talk and as few opinions as possible. But when I suggested a game, they kinda ignored me.
Posted by brandypPerhaps I could pitch an idea to them via the group chat, I doubt it'll help much, but i'll try

is that you deadpoop
Posted by SkittyPitching thoughts to others is exactly what is happening right now, if I trust a person well enough or a person just seems like the center of the room i'll let them spread the idea. It works but I was hoping that I would be able to speak for myself one day.

I'll see if I could work on my aura regarding the largely ignored part of me.

Posted by brandypI think we would be looking at his Mercury as well for assertiveness.

I'm a Gemini asc as well, but because my Mercury is Taurus I have difficulty being assertive with my ideas or being heard. Plenty of ideas but too long a time to process them.

Libra rising myself, I find myself attracting Gemini rising people especially. I've found that many of them are quiet at first but are some of the most fascinating people. They are very open about what they think and have the potential to be the life of the party. Very funny indeed, brutally honest and take trust very seriously. Libras are notorious as charmers and peacemakers, Geminis are very straightforward in telling it like it is.

gems arent really taken seriously. their strong suit is usually comic relief. daniel tosh, amy schumer, kanye west, donald trump...

I feel for you....
Had the same problem, as a Sag rising (conjunct by Neptune!) but I learned to deal with it.
For example, many years ago i was in a professional meeting, a young woman among many senior (and male) colleagues. A few minutes on, a problem was exposed and I came up with a solution which I thought (and still think) it was brilliant. The idea was simply ignored. Some looked at me for a sec and smiled, others even avoided eye contact. Forty minutes later, and a senior member came with something that was unanimously accepted and praised! To my stupefaction, it was the same idea I presented earlier and got ignored! I never got credit for it...
I went many times over what happened, trying to make sense of it. At the end of the day, if I was overlooked, it was my own fault! Since then, I made sure that I never get ignored again. I express myself clear, state a few advantages and ask immediate feedback from people I know better.

Posted by brandypMy mercury is in Libra, also an air sign.Posted by CleverboyI'm sorry bud. You have lots of air placements so I don't see that communication should be a problem. Libra and gemini can be kibd of surface/superficial though. Just repeat yourself until you are heard. Practice being funny or "clever" (your name) so that people will be interested in what you have to say. I dunno, *shrug*Posted by brandypHello, my sun is in Libra and my Moon is in Gemini.

But that's good news, what you just said. If communication is probably not the problem it would be a lot easier to cope. For me, being funny is easier than being clever, but i'll try both. 🙂
Posted by ExplicitIt's not often I pitch ideas, most of the time I go with the flow, but perhaps that I what is tripping me up, people expect me to go with the flow but sometimes what they want to do is not what I want to do.
Hmm. Maybe stop pitching ideas and stuff because you might be coming off a little desperate?
Just stay cool and be yourself. You'll attract people that way.
Posted by OphiuchusAnd comic relief it is, one of my strengths is to make people laugh. I know exactly what to do to get such a reaction. But for something serious, not so much.

Posted by UndineI see that happening so often, but often with the less serious of matters. When I get into a temper, my words become relatively loud and cutting and often get the attention I need. I was hoping to do it without a temper.

I think it is a very good idea, to immediately ask for immediate feedback. That way they back you up and another person doesn't come back and say the same thing. A lot of the times when something serious needs to be said, I try to become the center of attention before I say it. But compared to another person who seemingly does not need to put in effort for their words to be heard, it can be a little discouraging.
Posted by LiveAndLoveI find myself wanting to be Leo because of this, they have all the attention right away. Gemini, as Ophiuchus said seems more funny than serious.
I feel like this happens to a lot of Geminis. It's not my rising sign, that's Libra. But it is my sun sign and I know exactly what you mean. At family events, I get talked over all the time. With Cap and Scorp sisters it's hard to be heard above them. I even see this happening with my kids. They all talk so much, lol. I can't get a word in sometimes. It doesn't feel good to feel like people don't care about your opinions, I think they do though. Just a different way of showing it.
Posted by FloSo true, I feel it is something like when meeting new people, the ascendant takes center stage and starts going it's thing, then the more conservative sun/moon/mercury starts asking questions like 'is everyone else ok with this' then you hold back.
I'm a gem rising too. When I get comfortable I talk to much and it feels like I'm annoying people so I pull back.. Now I only talk to those who want to be talked too. 😢
I notice people who talk a lot and often without having a filter and I believe that the other planets (and upbringing) have a little hold on one's thoughts when one is using the ascendant more than any other. I don't think what I say is annoying, but worried.

Can you post your chart Cleverboy?

I have gem rising and i have same Experience, for many ppl i am just not there, i am invisible most of the time, even being a big guy! But i learned with time, its we gem risings who expect some kind of feedback, and others dont care. Our mind is to fast for most people to get it.

Posted by CleverboyI think ram is saying that libra helps to it too, people dont give too much credit for libra individuals. But also to pisces, me.Posted by Ram416Could you explain it please?Posted by CleverboyWell now that explains it. lol

If you have Gemini Ascendant you can watch the astrological influences / Lunar eclipse / Sept

Posted by tizianiThis is basically me and one of the positives I like about having a Gem Rising but a Cap Sun. I often can command presence by just being in the room but able to pick up on smaller things thanks to being a rising Gemini. Gives me a little more mental flexibility as well.
There's a difference between being socially astute to the subtext of people's motivations, like Gemini, and commanding people's attention with your presence like Cap.
