I don't agree that the Rising is your purpose. To an extent it is how you interact with people and things, and impact the world around you.
But your Midheaven actually details the kinds of accomplishments you will make. The Midheaven is often associated with Career paths and the like. But that doesn't make much sense outside of the context of the modern world. Humans didn't have "careers" before civilization. So how would the Midheaven apply at all to humans in the past?
This is where I personally think the true nature to the Midheaven is that it is literally THE sign that designates purpose and role. Not the Rising. A better way to look at it is that your Rising is HOW you go about realizing your purpose/role. But your Midheaven is the actual purpose/role unto itself.
So for instance I have a Scorpio Rising and a Leo Midheaven. With this combination what you get is someone who interacts with others and appears to others as very intense and black and white about things(Scorpio Rising). But the end result is honor, prestiege, dominance, etc basically a true King(Leo Midheaven). In other words, I rise to a throne(Leo Midheaven) by using intense and powerful methods(Scorpio Rising).

Dude was not into marriage AT ALL! Like, I truly think he was happy when his father died because his dad had his whole marital life planned put for him after college. The thought of marriage made him sick.

Well I know both Scorpio and Leo are associated with dominance. With Leos it's not so much about dominating others but rather just one's own independence and strength. They want to dominate by STANDING OUT. But a Scorpio just literally wants to dominate other people. Tear them apart, etc.
And Scorpios don't have anything to do with Kingship. Scorpios have nothing to do with ruling things. But Leos do. So the fact that my end goal is to literally rule and be a king of some sort. Makes more sense with my Midheaven than it does my Rising.
Also see what Se7en said about Tesla. The fact that he's a Taurus Rising, Capricorn Midheaven also fits with this perfectly.click to expand

Hmm, I don't know. But this Ascendant stuff is so true for me. People see me as such a bad, controversial person. I was kinda sure it was. But I know from experience all the bulls I've interacted with male and female have been pretty traditional about things. They don't have a problem with the way the game is played, if anything they love what they get out of it. The results.
There's that one bull that runs around here that I call Mr. No-Balls because he's passive to the game completely. Likely because he gets laid plenty with it. Shrug.
Despite how untraditional and rebellious I myself can be. I actually really like Taurus women for this reason. They know how to please a man and uphold the female side of the game. If I was to marry any woman it would probably be a Taurus.

Great! That is the meaning of Sag/9th house/Jupiter, to travel to broaden the mind! When you've lived in different countries you can't help but see all the differences and change your whole perspective....about everything! So you grow spiritually and your thought process turns to philosophy.

oh it would be so much easier if we were all one thing and not a mix of so many planetary influences - I am Taurus Sun and Rising - thank god for the Cap moon - but my Mercury and Venus in Aries sets me off and the my Mars in Pisces is a total la ti da AF when it comes to relationship - if I could only just stay with earth I'd be better off - but I guess that is what you are saying - that we end up gravitating to the sign we were born into ... I can see myself trying harder to control the Aries and Pisces now that I am getting older. I guess we live and learn and try to continue doing better ...
