Part 1

The twelfth house Sun person feels undefinable and seamless. The individual feels a dark shadow over his self expression and locked away from sunlight. He is born on the borderline of the visible and invisible worlds and attempts to integrate unconscious symbols with the material world. On the voyage through the twelfth house seas rationality is lost and replaced by confusion and disarray. Life is puzzling, and he struggles to establish himself amongst the waves of the collective. He tends to be a gentle and sensitive person who expresses a tremendous empathy and human awareness. There is an identification with suffering, a tendency toward self destruction, and acute receptivity that fringes on psychic. The elixir to his wound is developing intimacy with the spirit.

There is the sense of being locked away from the Sun in cold isolation. It’s as if he can’t access his true self and can’t access the world, like he is trapped between two states. The Sun represents the father, and in the desolate twelfth house there may have been an absence or abandonment by the father. Maybe he vanished for long periods, was emotionally unavailable, or left without another word. The individual spends his life searching for the paternal figure that can cradle his emptiness. In its highest octave, this leads him to find God the father, and his childhood deprivation is resolved by the reunion with the divine. He must learn to understand the well of riches that reside within and master his emotional instabilities. He may accept his own thoughts and self perception as universal truth and struggle with assertion and declaring his own needs. He runs to the rescue of others all while ignoring his own disturbances.

Part 2

The individual with a twelfth house Sun can wear a mask in front of the world and remain very secretive and private. He requires copious time in solitude and may withdraw for long periods without a word. He can experience ripples of melancholy and easily slip into meditation during unsteady emotional states. There is porous receptivity to the circulating vibrations, whims, and moods of his company, and his emotions blend with other people’s to create indwelling watercolour pictures of pleasure and pain. His dreams are ultra prophetic and visionary, and in moments he fails to remember if events occurred during real life or dream. Maybe the individual feels rejected from the world, like he is watching all the joy of life from a desolate island. The individual here holds the torch that can light the twelfth house sea into a glowing masterpiece, and it’s all for him, the sacred sun baby.

The Sun in the 12th House: Precious Secrets

Your desire to achieve takes on a quite peculiar form, in the sense that you are unable to resist the appeal of mystery and you cannot help withdrawing from some events. Your natural inclinations often prompt you to isolate yourself and to protect your private garden because it is during such privileged moments, when you are alone with yourself, that you can go back to your roots and eventually blossom.

You have a strong propensity to introversion, tranquillity, and even a certain taste for solitude which may be natural or caused by the force of habit. But you are more secretive and enigmatic than solitary. It is just that a more or less important part of you (depending on the rest of your chart), is hidden and inaccessible to others.

You are sociable, but you appreciate discretion. You often show a real dedication towards people, and your compassion is one of the original facets of your personality which is not easy to figure out. You tend to forget your individuality and to almost negate it in some cases. You are not interested in personal glory, which is entirely to your credit. You thrive through selflessness, volunteer and humanitarian work, and the alleviation of the distress and the injustices which surround you, and which you sense more acutely than anyone else.

The paradox is that the more you distance yourself from society, the more successful you are, at least as far as your inner strength and your evolution are concerned. Working in secret or in a secluded setting often suits you very well. You are favoured if you are a writer, a painter, a medical practitioner, a psychiatrist, even a monk/nun, if your work is related to prisons, or if it is conducive to calm and contemplation. This does not exclude celebrity, but if you achieve fame, you ought to allow a hidden part of you to express itself in one of the areas mentioned above, for your own good.

According to the Tradition, this configuration indicates that your evolution is linked to ordeals and obstacles leading to a crisis and a period of solitude. Their finality is to enable you to be on your own and to take the time to ponder on what is really meaningful in a life journey which seems so absurd and mad at first sight. You do not need to worry because no predisposition is better than another one. We all have our own path, and yours goes through plain authenticity, secret, self-generation, as well as several periods spent far from social whirls and false relations which are only a waste of time.

Your accomplishment may turn you into the power behind the throne. It may take you into hidden topics which people do not talk about such as the supernatural, occultism, the great mysteries, etc.

Your destiny has a mysterious part which no one suspects. You are far from being the simple person one might believe that you are. Although you do not show it, you are aware that you do not match the opinion which most people have of you.

You are interested in situations which enable you to hide or to withdraw at certain periods of your life. This is often the result of a series of ordeals. However, beyond your defensive reaction, there is a genuine inclination for mystery and secret.

You must overcome your periods of isolation and ordeals because the reward is commensurate with what you are entitled to expect: swifter moral and spiritual evolution, wisdom, and a blooming personality. Some people choose small roads in the countryside for enfolding their life. You prefer to take the highway for your journey to your salvation, and you avoid the social illusions of ordinary life in society. More than anyone else, you are favoured. You are prompted to overcome pitfalls and to never let pessimism dishearten you.

First of all, indicates complicated childhood, you were not treated as an "individual". Do you have the feeling that you grew up in an "orphanage" or actually did, maybe interned a few years?

Sun is the father, in 12th house is "hidden", "absent".

Saturn is the mother, you have higher than your Sun?

Saturn is better down than up.

Sun and Saturn defines our parents, and moon our perceptios as child. These three and their aspects are the father-mother-child key .

The Moon is you, as child.

Study this and know who you are.

my sun is my my 12th house. they say it relates to career. my sun sign is gemini and my career is in writing (all forms: scriptwriting, copywriting, etc). the first thing i held when i was 2 years old was a pen and i was mimicking my mom writing stuff. and since i have an asian mom, she never read me fairy tales but had me re-write all of them in a writing notebook without erasures. if i ever get one, i won't have dinner. before disney bastardised their fairy tale animations, i already knew their stories were wrong.

My nnd is in the 12 th house but the description here seems to apply for me.
Any additional input re nnd in 12 house?
Traditionally it was taught that those born with North Node in 12th House are here to sacrifice for the greater good and have incarnated to demonstrate compassion and unconditional love for the human race. We expect to find them serving as a doctor, nurse, psychiatrist, mystic, or artist, for these vocations allow them to connect with and heal others by channeling deeper energy.

The corresponding Dragon’s Tail in the Sixth House was thought to connote health problems, even mysterious ailments or hypochondria, and lives punctuated by periods of “time outs” to deal with sickness.

If you do not have health problems, I bet you have some issues about your work environment. You may feel confined by your work space. A career in a large institution is called for. If it’s not the work environment that bothers you, perhaps you feel unappreciated or just underpaid. You may have an exaggerated sense of self and feel that most of what you are asked to do on the job is beneath you. Yet you will find yourself doing work you resent over and over again, while the anger builds up inside — until you make yourself literally sick.

The north node in 12th house placement means you were a perfectionist in past lives, analyzing and criticizing the world around you. Perhaps you unconsciously fall back into this pattern, secretly judging others as less than perfect. Resist the urge to lose yourself in petty thoughts. You must learn to differentiate between the important and insignificant. Until you do, the nervous energy you perpetuate by focusing on minutiae will eat away at your physical and mental health.

You have a soul memory of being able to control the outer world, and now you are here to experience the entire universe within you. This will require periods of solitude in which you contemplate the microcosm of your soul. Many famous loners have the north node in 12th house placement. Among these are Isaac Newton, Abraham Lincoln, Henri Matisse, Soren Kierkegaard, Vincent Van Gogh, Thomas Merton, Marilyn Monroe, and T.E. Lawrence. Embrace the decision to journey from the material world to the spiritual, and you will find a greater happiness than you have ever known. Faith and determination are your keys as the north node in 12th house placement.

Your physical health is dependent upon your mental well-being which requires you to let go of your need to control the details of the world around you. When you begin to put your faith in your inner resources rather than trying to manipulate the outer world and impress people, you will find the self-confidence you have been lacking.

Your life is a journey of self-discovery as a carrier of the north node in 12th house.

LaFille's description fit me exactly, put my thoughts about myself into words.

I'm not a 12th house sun though.
Yes, both articles are very, very accurate to me, as well. So, I had to post them here.

I am not sure about the NN article, though, since I don't have this placement.

Where is your Sun, if not in 12th House? It is interesting that you can identify yourself with these descriptions despite the different House position. Because I don't think that every Pisces Sun can say this fits them.

Are you a 12th house sun aswell?

I'm a Pisces sun with a total of 4 placements in Pisces.
And Indeed not every Pisces sun seems to fits those descriptions. Although I think a Pisces sun who's very conscious of him/herself could find it accurate aswell, I think it takes a lot of (deeper) self knowledge.

I have 4 Pisces placements, as well. 🙂

Pisces Sun and Venus in the 12th House, Mercury conjunct the 12th House from the 11th one. And NN in Pisces in the 11th House.

I agree, self-introspection seems like a necessity for me. It helped a lot. I believe this placement can be manageable, it is not easy but what is easy anyway? Self pity doesn't work for anyone. So, optimism seems like the only option I have, despite some weak moments when I think everything is pointless, lom.

I think it's actually worse for others who don't have this placement to deal with me.
It so strange ungraspable energy for them, so they get easily confused or feel uncomfortable with it. Some people on the contrary love it and they think we are soulmates or something, even though they practically don't know anything about me.

I was thinking about this placement lately again a lot and i think it doesn't represent just uncosciousness of the 12th Houser, but also the unconsciousness of others.

When people meet us I sense they get sort of access to some things hidden in their mind, to which they were not aware of before. And they kind of project it onto the 12th House person. It can be something great, beautiful ot really scary, unpleasant.
They can feel sudden familiarity with me or repulse or anything inbetween. In any case they feel strange, positively or negatively and it can also be both at once. So, even more confusing for them.

So, after the first impression of familiarity, they often come to realize they don't know what to think about me and maybe sometimes feel betrayed. By me or by their own mind? They cannot say for sure.

Can other 12th House Sun person sense this too or it is just me?

Often Sun in 12 th is accompanied by the moon at 12 th. I really like the moon in 1, 12, 6 and 7 th because they are able to "give" unconditionally, they are genuine,
Moon is much worse in the 2, 5, 8, 11 th because they are false, give for please others.

Sure you are a very atypical Aries because Aries begins and 12th house ends. Maybe an "undo" Aries?

that's interesting perspective. I haven't researched or looked into those houses for the moon or sun much.

you left out 10th house, 4th,3rd,and 9th house moons.

interesting. I have an 11th house moon in Virgo. I do give to please others, but I don't think it is false. I would rather see others happy than sad. that's my perspective. people typically misunderstand me, because I choose no side. if I have two friends that hate each other (which I have multiple that do) and they try talking poorly of the other one I remain neutral and rebut with "that's true they did that, but everyone is human". drives them mad, but I refuse to talk poorly of a friend, whether or not my other friends like them or not. my emotions are connected to friendship, but my Chiron is also conjunct my moon, so that is also where my deepest wound has been. when I was a child, I was the third wheel, no one ever chose me for groups or anything and it made me so sad/left out. I never felt like other kids liked me etc. it made me self-conscious. however now I have great friends who I value very highly. I would do anything for them. I let my friend borrow $ 300 so she wouldn't have a spike in fees for a car accident she got in when her $ 300 payment was due and she was broke.

I would think the 11th moon is the "humanitarian" moon, represented by Aquarius, not a false one. but I could be wrong. I personally have never felt "false" when giving to others. I give because I want to and I care/want to see them happy.

a lot of my friends have 2nd, 5th, 7th and 12th house moons. I like those placements, but I know others with different moon placements who I also value very highly. I suppose I don't judge by moon placements so much as character. I tend to like fire and air signs, Aries and Aquarians at the top of each element.
