I read somewhere that the "best" chart for being an artist is filled with Earth and Fire. What do y'all think? I think that people of all energies can be artist, but the art they make will differ. Like air and fire people will have the easiest time writing, earth and fire people will have the easiest time making utilitarian art, and water and earth people will make really deep emotional art but will struggle making a lot of it.

Yea but if you look at artists chart you can see where their strengths and weaknesses were. Kurt Cobain for example, very emo music but not that much of it. Makes sense, he had lots of Water and Earth in his chart for feeling but NO fire or air. Everything for him must have been so heavy....

I would think Fire and Water.

Planets in Leo house in particular. But yet also the right fire/Mars energy to actually complete the project and put it out there.

Water to be able to understand and extrapolate emotion and tension.

Pullen says I'm all fire and water. I don't have an artistic bone in my body though there was this guitar player Aries I dated once..

wrong !
hahahahaahahah
I can't take you seriously !

as someone said :
depends on the art, its focus and meaning. i think each element is equally essential in that sense.

personally , I think everyone can be good with Art !
but some signs are Made, for different things ... and a specific thing

like they are born for this thing

---------------------------------------------

'' air may be bursting with original, unique ideas but not enough motivation to produce their work like an earth sign might for example. ''

WRONG ! I understand what you trying to say , but I disagree

the only thing I can see myself doing and work in this life . as a libra .
is Art !

It's like the only job that I can do . I hate the rest..

some people hate their jobs ..
when we really love something we do ! we can put our heart , energy and time in our projects ! ...

enough said

Art ?

when you say ''art'' to me = air signs . in general ...

don't take what I said too seriously ! ... lol

my message should be taken with a grain of salt !

( I don't know the meaning of this expression , I used google translate for this french expression )
...
haha

Well I am passionate about everything. I fill the bill then.

I was thinking of the classic art definition - painting, sculpting, dancing, singing etc

I love photography as well but I have a crap camera. Still I think I can capture nice landscapes.

I don't know how to use photoshop though.

Huh, I don't know. Haven't really explored this idea of astrology and art. I know some Sags and a Virgo who have no artistic talent but I know a Sag who is an excellent writer and a Virgo who makes jewelry. I haven't seen any Tauruses who are very artistic and the same with Scorpio, though the ones who do create tend to do so on a more utilitarian plain: architect, engineer, wood worker, etc. with a musical bent. My sister is an artist, she's Aqua. My mom is an artist, too, and she's a Gem. I'm an artist and I'm Cancer. I've actually seen a ton of artists in Cancer. My mom, sister and I have explored mediums, etc. and usually have more than one form of creating.

My Briggs Myer personality is ISFP, the Artist, but I think my mom and sister got ISFJ or something similar. I haven't noticed a ton of correlation in any of it, yet.

Just had a thought: maybe the artistic expression is more dependent on Fixed, Cardinal or Mutable? I've seen a lot of artists in Mutable and Cardinal signs and less in Fixed signs.

"take with a grain of salt" is an idiom which means to view something with skepticism, or to not take it literally. The origin of the saying is not completely clear and has been attributed to Pliny and an antidote to poison and also to Roman general Pompey for a similar reason. The Latin word salis means both "salt" and "wit", so that the Latin phrase "cum grano salis" could be translated as both "with a grain of salt" and "with a grain (small amount) of wit". Yay Wikipedia!

Fire dominate/ earth close 2nd. Mutable

very artistic:
writing, drawing/sketching, photography.. you name it I am into it.

I also use it to work through stuff if I am down and out.

@ Damnata-- yes starving artist is prerequisite #1! 😛

I'm an air and fire dominant earth sign with a 5th house water moon and pretty much everything else 7th house. Neptune squares my Mercury and Venus.

I love all things artistic and creative and greatly enjoy practicing them myself. Unfortunately I produce next to jack squat because my inner perfectionist won't let it be *wrong*. Or maybe because I have all the emotional depth of a kiddy pool. Touch call.

i'm not sure which element is dominant for me... but i identify more with water and fire.

paint/draw and play various musical instruments. liberal arts-minded. terrible at math/science.

You asked if I was an artist. Yes, I am a musician and I love to read, which by the way I consider to be an art of itself. I will say that my biggest challenge to overcome is my Jupiter in Virgo. Jupiter is such a musical planet, and Virgo is not in any way a musical placement. I have such a hard tome recording songs because have a really hard time tolerating any kind of 'mistake', and being musical is about not seeing mistakes.

I'm water dominant, cardinal dominant, and Neptune is my most dominant planet. I'm not creative at all. Never considered myself creative and I highly dislike participating in what most people consider creative such as writing, dancing, and all that jazz.

Out of all the people I've met, the two most creative were Leos. One is very artistic. She's a great drawer, painter, and story teller. The other is an actor with creative ideas and personality.
