HELL YEAH!!! All my closest friends are fire or fire cusps. And they all have water friends. My favorite group is fire!!!
My longest relationship was with a Cancer man, 3 years. It was hard work and didn't end well.
Pisces men avoid me, and I've never really clicked with Scorpio men except as drinking buddies.

Pisces men avoid everyone. That's what's so annoying about them. U gotta push them a bit, nudge them to try
Well going by traditional astrology's mirror rulership with planets...
Leo/Cancer
Aries/Scorpio
Sagittarius/Pisces
All are emotional and passionate, but risk reducing the other to steam.
I'd suggest solving all your fights/issues with steamy hot shower sex, but then they might just ONLY do that and pass out in the shower and get all prune-skinned.
Understand, communication and compromise will be needed from both sides.

Mirror rulership with planets?
What exactly do you mean?
From your example above, there is
Sun/Moon
Mars/Mars-Pluto
Jupiter/Neptune

Traditional didn't use outer planets.
Mirror rulership is having two signs being ruled by the same planet.
Like how Mars rules Aries and Scorpio. They can find mutual ground by focusing on the traits their ruling planet has and work their differences from there.
I don't, unless they have lots of Fire, Air and/or Earth in their charts. Otherwise, I see nothing in common with a typical Water person. It's just that I don't have the patience for unnecessary drama and heavy emotionalism.
My chart is Fire dominant.
There might be a very promising chance for the two to be together, but they have to work hard for it. The first days will definitely be catastrophic, since Water mainly grasps the subconsciousness (being psychic and all that), while Fire is closely associated with the hyper-consciousness (intuition).

How dominant?
So much we can use you as a space-heater?
Grill marshmallows off you?

As long as you have enough Earth to provide that brilliant chance. Man, I'm getting hungry just by the thought of it! We should definitely do some BBQ.
My parents were both leos/remarried leos-both married 25 years. scorp and leo if the scorp is female can be bad....but Hilary and Bill made it.
Oddly enough... I am Pluto/Scorpio strong influences... Pisces moon... and Aries... I guess I have a hard enough time getting along with myself... lol

this topic is about the fire signs.. leo, aries and sagittarius and the water sings.. scorpio, pisces and cancer and trying to figure out why exactly it is difficult for them to sustain a relationship.
I have dated both pisces and cancer women and i have had nightmarish experiences with pisces and pretty decent experiences with cancer.. i have yet to date a scorpio but im pretty sure it would work out.
so ladies and gentlemen... what are your thoughts on the matter?
can water and fire truly make it in a long term relationship?
