Venus also attracts. Our descendent sign is like our bait. What bait you have controls the type of fish you'll catch.
The midheaven, MC, represents the career, our presence in the greater world, goals. Reputation shows up here. Control of the reputation, doing what you believe to be the right thing, enhances performance and opportunity out in the big world. If you want to be a banker you??d sure want to control any circumstances that might speak to your integrity in handling others?? money. If you want to be a lingerie model a different sort of —good?? reputation is probably important.
The thing is, the universe operates under a set of rules. I'm not sure what they all are but I sure do know when I manage to break one. The signs on the angles show how we go about controlling ourselves and our circumstances in order to fit into our understanding of these rules. The signs and the planets in aspect to these angles also shape our personal understanding of the rules.
To my way of thinking, control is not bad or wrong; control is neutral, natural, necessary. I can't help but think that how a person feels about control is likely to be a reflection of their IC placement and therefore also seen in their midheaven.

Mhhh I'm very low on cardinal. 17.4%
Neptune cardinal signelton in Cap.
Neptune in 7th, Saturn in 10th.
Cancer asc.
My favorite modality to mesh with. idk if controlling or directing.. But whenever the thought (or action) of making someone do what I want crosses my mind, my Cancer side is involved.
I'm low on my Cardinal. I actually got a lot of Fixed dominant and only two mutable.
I have Cardinal placements in their domicile planets, so count me in. Especially with having a natal Aries Mars square Draconic Cappy Saturn.
I think my saturn is the only other planet in cardinal. Aries I think.
46.5 Cardinal.
I have planets in all my angular houses.
My Draconic Chart has Sun/Mercury/Uranus/Neptune (and North Node but that's everyone) in Aries.
Mars in Libra.
Jupiter in Capricorn.
...Vedic is the ONLY chart that doesn't deck me out with Cardinal Signs.

the annoying thing about cardinal houses is how some douches assume they're special and powerful because they have a bunch of planets in those houses.no one gives a shit you have 3 planets in the 10th. you're not special. STFU.
....
.
bwahahahah
Not even going to go into the cardinal energy in my chart. All I lack is Libra.
And cardinal houses rule 😄

You could just ignore them instead. If you were that smart, that is.
5 cardinal signs in my chart not including north node and Chiron..
36.1 percent cardinal, 35.0 percent fixed, 28.9 percent mutable.

half my chart is cardinal signs. 3 aries, 2 cap. i don't feel particularly controlling myself but i don't have to deal with me. so i'm not sure. pushy i will admit to. i can be extremely pushy. aries planets ftw.
Did anyone in this thread say that? No.
Don't what your beef is but that was uncalled for.
3 planets would be a stellium, so at most they just really focus on whatever house it's in.
Well I can say your confrontational or quick to jump to conclusions with your post.

well idk in western. i know conjunct an angle gives a planet strength but that could be a conjunct from a mutable house.
Angular houses (1,4,7 and 10) are the foreground while other houses are background.
So yes they're important.
I agree to possibly, maybe being bossy. I've been told I am but I don't see it. I HATE being controlled and I refuse to control others for that same reason. I feel my cardinal energy (and there's a shit ton of it) is more of an instigating/action orientated energy and less about control. I don't like rigid structure, don't like a tight schedule, and very much go with the flow on many things, but by golly I have the most organized junk drawer and don't EVEN think of messing it up. lol

Are the Cardinal signs controlling?
Yes they are, as are people with lots of planets in the Cardinal houses (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th). But you should not assign this a negative connotation.
ALL ENERGY IS NEUTRAL UNTIL IT??S DIRECTED.
Yes, your Capricorn mother may try to control your life but she may just as easily control herself and her own life, teaching you to do the same in the process.
I have some emphasis on Cardinal signs and I control this blog. If I did not have this ability and the willingness to use it, this blog would not exist in this form.
Do some Cardinal types try to control others?
Of course and if it bothers you then stay away from them.
Control is a very complex phenomena. For example I have a terrific time making decisions courtesy the Libra in my chart and I am greatly relieved if you choose the restaurant where we eat. If you choose what I have off the menu, I will appreciate that as well. This is a situation where I will readily want to give up control and having someone who is willing to take command is a real boon to me.
Never, ever look at a chart and assume the energy you see described there is poorly played unless you like being an idiot and a fool and so forth. If you ask me this is the mark of a lousy astrologer and someone who thinks they know more than they do.

The cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. They resonate to self/action (Aries) and Mars, home/family (Cancer) and the moon, others/relationships (Libra) and Venus and career/goals (Capricorn) and Saturn.
The angles are all cardinal. The 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses are cardinal. Among other things, they show areas where control is an issue. With the ascendent we control our physical selves, how we act, seem, how we physically appear.
The Imum coeli, IC, has issues of control over the circumstances of our home and family. Perhaps we don't control the family we are born into, though some would say we do, but once we're grown we control where we live and who we call family, based in part on what we experienced growing up.
The descendent or 7th house cusp ruled by Venus often shows how we attempt to control our relationships. It shows what we like, what we tend to pick. Choosing is control. You can control the impact of the other by choosing well. Venus also attracts. Our
