For some things at astro.com, and such, Placidus is default, ofc, but the placement of the planets and the sign rulers make no sense for my chart in Placidus, so I'm switching to Whole Signs. I've been talking about Vehlow before, but realised that although the planets were all in the right places, the rulers were not.

Using the Whole Signs system and pushing the planets which are veeery close to the cusp of the next house into that latter house, my chart is probably the closest picture of me that a chart can get(except for a possible additon of two aspects, but that's a whole other story), so I'm very happy.

Have you considered the different house systems?

Do you fully identify with Placidus or some other house system?

Please share your experiences.🙂

Placidus in the only one that seems to fit me. I've run my chart through several others and nothing else lines up well (so far).
That's great, seeing as that's default in many generators!

Do you fully identify with Placidus, or is it just the best so far?

The best so far, but I'm open to looking at others if I can.

Koch only moves one major thing in my chart - Pluto - but anything I read about Pluto in 5th house doesn't fit well. I was open at first because I feel like I have something going on in my 5th house. If midpoint theories are true, then I do have at least one major midpoint there so that could explain it.

I looked at my house placements in placidus and in whole signs. I looked at moon, mercury, uranus, and neptune so far, as those are the ones I noticed that changed houses. In Placidus, I identify more with my neptune in the 10th and I'm inbetween on mercury in the 12th...from the descriptions, I identify with a bit of the 11th and 12th house descriptions. With whole signs, I identify more with moon in the 11th and uranus in the 9th.

So, it's 50/50 for me, almost. I Identify with some placidus and some whole sign placements. I'll have to check out my other choices.

I don't know this, but I was wondering if a midpoint could be just a mathematical point, like some astrologers suggest you "make a T-square into a grand cross", to balance it? Just a theory; I'm not an astrologer.

That's interesting! The search goes on, I guess. 🙂

My Whole Signs didn't work until I Pushed two planets that were almost on the house cusp point into the next house. Is that something you could do to make it work?

The only placement I can't fully relate to is Uranus in Sag.

Everything else makes sense.

The only other system that makes a lot of uncanny sense with my chart is Natural Houses.
Ah, and that would probably be the same in whatever house system. That's awsome!

Natural houses, as in "Whole(1=Aries)" ?
Yep 🙂

NH is the only one that would change Uranus for me

Wait! How could a different house system change the sign of a planet?

Possibly, yes. This is an article about the midpoint theories (I call them theories because I don't know if they are facts):

Unfortunately not.
My mercury is at 22 degrees and my neptune is at 20, so it's not close enough to the cusp.
But, like I said, I'll keep looking around. : )

Nah it was my mistake, you're right. I misspoke. It's more the Sag part that i don't identify with.

Well, the combination really. It's in 6th.

6th + Sag - I just don't see it.

Ah, I see. Must be frustrating! I know I was frustrated before my chart came together. (Well, not completely together since I may have to add two aspects and remove one, but that's more a matter of two alternatives(which I actually find both are acceptable) than any real issues, so...) *Edit: I see how that sounded. No, I know you can't chose your aspects, it's just that my mother and father are debating if I was really born ten minutes before or after what my birth certificate says(the nurse, apparently told them). I'm hoping my mother wrote it in her diary from that time. Now she just needs to find it.🙂

haha, yes, it can be never-ending.

I am quite happy that I bought an ephemeris recently - a noon one. I like looking at a book rather than online for that info. Brings me back to my teen years when I would look things up in my mother's ephemeris.

"How to Calculate Midpoints
You could simply calculate the degree difference between 2 planets or points and divide in half. To obtain a full list of all midpoints in your natal chart, you can follow the steps in this post.

If you have an astrological software that calculates midpoints, you can print a “90 degree sort” table, or “Midpoint Tree” in order to get all midpoint pictures in your natal chart.

Usually an orb of 1.5~2.0 degrees is suggested to calculate midpoints."

Yes! Seems you can...according to the theories on that site, at least.🙂 What I don't understand is why you would need orbs for that if it's just a mathematical point. Or did I misunderstand?

I think he means that you use those orbs when you're looking at aspects between your midpoints and other things in your natal chart, or someone else's chart with synastry. Like you do with angles like the ascendant.
