Do you feel happy

This topic was created in the Astrology forum by DwellingOnMove on Sunday, June 11, 2017 and has 26 replies.

Understanding Happiness and Your Zodiac Traits

Feeling happy often depends on cultivating traits associated with your North Node sign. Your North Node signifies the qualities to develop for growth, which can enhance your well-being when embraced. Recognizing your North Node helps you align with your true path and find happiness. Saturn and Jupiter influence different aspects of your chart related to discipline and expansion respectively.

whenever you cultivate the traits of the sign of your NN? Of course if you have taken notice of that.

PS: I think I read somewhere that SN is Saturnian and NN is Jupiterian. Did I say it right?

NN in Taurus.

Hedonistic karma. I guess so.

12th house. I'm a writer. Not necessarily happier all the time but definitely relieved.

thank you for sharing. yeah, relieved is a good description too.

(off-topic: I'm void of Taurus. At the same time it is my 6th house. If that doesn't give workoholic tendencies. work=pleasure)

For me I feel at times stuck and also I find peace when I deal with my SN (taurus) traits. I can't figure out my NN traits - but what it seems is that I'm supposed to let go of the SN traits, basically going from riches to rags and I'm supposed to find meaning in life having very little. Like some sick science experiment.

Lately thought I feel very stuck and not very happy if I go back to SN traits.

ya, your case is complicated. cause if your SN is in Taurus, your NN is Scorpio. and you don't have lack of Scorpio influences because of your 8th house.

yeah, the meaning of life. we all have this problem. ok, we could kill ourselves in order to see what comes next. but cause death is certain, we can a little play here before we follow our curiousity. Most likely we can only experience ourselves in this life. only one chance. ok,no that I'm sure of it. but still. we have this one chance and they say we are free to do whatever we want. so I feel relax. as long as I don't do crime.

Yes. True node in Gemini, 9th house. I enjoy reading and studying. Both help me to relax. I have enjoyed reading books ever since I was a small child, in fact I taught myself to read through audio cassette books when I was younger. I notice that I need the physical book too, I am not happy reading online articles or PDF format. I have never travelled abroad, unfortunately my 9th house lady, Venus is weak and square Saturn in my 3rd house of travel but I love studying about foreign lands and cultures of places I may probably never travel to. I had no faith or belief in a deity before I got interested in esoteric subjects like astrology and later learned about principles of astro theology and that each of the religions could be based on astrological principles, much like some belief Christianity is Solar worship and Islam is Saturnine worship.

There are indications in my chart of suicide, I wonder in a past life if this lack of faith led to suicide and in this life I must learn a new ideal or faith through reading and absorbing the beliefs of other cultures. Some say you can see indications of a past life in your chart or that this current chart is the death chart of a past life.

wow, thanks for sharing.

I wonder why not Venusian or Neptunian worship rather than Solar worship.

NN in Sagittarius, 4th house.

I'm happy most of the time... haven't got a lot to not be happy about.

When I do feel unhappy about something, I don't let it get me down for long.

Things that make me the most happy are my family and learning new things.

It's amazing how your NN and SN have found their place in 3 and 9. That makes the transformation a lot easier. Maybe Saturn thought you have enough of the good things and he should bring a little hardship to the table? Saturn~Karma~SN.

NN in Cancer and it fucks up my whole mojo from time to time...??

I think you are talking about aspects to your SN. everytime a transit puts pressure on NN, it puts pressure on SN too.

But NN is not there until yo work for it. SN is what you tend to do with no effort.

are you saying it does not bring anything good to your life if you are nurturing others or expressing|recognizing emotions?

for me, @youngali and @AerialView

NN Cancer in 8

- Do not take responsibilities too seriously

- don't be rigid|fearful of being dependent on others

- let go of over-managing life

- relax your standards of perfection|achievement

- avoid falling victim to living through the eyes of society

- value own personal (as opposed to professional/status) achievements.

- allow yourself to be vulnerable

- make time for home and family life.

- work on inner foundation and “base”

- follow personal instincts

For example: I like to nurture|protect others but I cannot handle it when they ask for a reply. There I go back to my Cap SN and withdraw. It is often a pair of good and bad feeling.

I think the concept means we need those traits especially in those areas. For you it is romance|affection, entrepreneurship, children, performing, entertainment, games, popularity|fame|heroes. Everything you love to do, and that gives you personal pride|pleasure. Hobbies. special talents where creativity flows. reactions to tragic events in life.

I can understand the situation. this comes when other facts in our charts come first.

my progressed Sun and Mercury, for example, are in Capricorn. That makes it easy to fall back to Cap SN. Especially when Saturn is transitting the first house. Or because natal Jupiter is square to SN-NN axis.

North Node in 8th House

- “Help others to find their resources|values"

- you are here to learn self-control and discipline. Learn to tame yourself.

- Resolve to acquire only useful possessions.

- do not lust after anything more than what you need.

- Let go of old beliefs about social castes.

- Bond with those closest to you

- Value what you learn from them^^.

- Curb sexual desires.

- Reserve some energy for the future|regeneration.

- burn bridges.

- Don't throw money+energy away on undeserving people|causes.

You may find the universe supports you in seeking status, as this will allow you to be an individual who contributes to those around him and is respected. You will also be lucky in metaphysical, occult, and spiritual pursuits because of your north node in 8th house placement.

I don't know about happier. Hated my NN for most of my life. But now I have realized I like staying home all day (NN Cancer), usually thinking about mystical things or psychoanalyzing myself (8th). It's more a problem though because I don't want to work now, at least not normal paid work.

Thank you so much!

All of that Info is depressing though. It basically says let go of everything.

"It basically says let go of everything."

haha.... maybe this is why we have problems with Scorpios. as if the hidden agenda says: destruct all what you are today without fear, I'm gonna make a new YOU. not that I could cope when I was to. but the message is clear to me. this scene reminded me ASAP of that message:

It's helpful to see it in the context of the movie scenario.

what is "let go"?

Isn't it noticing|admitting|recognizing that "the last time things happened against our stubborn assumptions, it was not the end of the world"?

We should be fair. There are bunch of alternatives to our own ways. They work as well as our ways work. So why not free ourselves for just one moment and act like a totally different person would do?

The problem is: when our SN has obsessions with security, we can act one moment out of "the will to experiment", but before we have time to think again, the SN has taken over and sabotaged the experiment.

Probably it takes years to make SN chill.

An example: yes-saying-people learn in seminars that they can say NO too. in life you can say yes and you can say no. in both cases there's a tomorrow. well, most often. not when dead was on turn.

Not sure, but I think most of us dont feel our north node very well, like it's foreign territory to us and so we are supposed to spend this lifetime marching towards it. For me, NN in 5th house capricorn:

http://www.truenode.org/north-node-by-house/north-node-in-5th-house/

North Node in 5th House indicates a past life dedicated to fulfilling wishes. Early in this incarnation, you reveled in your imagination and inventiveness, whiling away the hours daydreaming or losing yourself in fantasies. You are a mental traveler with a powerful dream life, and your challenge in this lifetime is to find the proper place for this.

In an attempt to ground your energy, you may have tried to live vicariously through your friends, letting them act out your far-fetched fantasies. You had many friendships in past lifetimes, but you will find these are unfulfilling to you now. Perhaps no one is available to help when you really need it. Further, when you put group needs ahead of your own, you will lose every time. This is how the universe supports you in developing a strong sense of self.

You were detached and wanted space in previous incarnations. Love may be hard to find, recognize, or keep in this lifetime since you have so little soul experience with it. It may come later in life once you’ve developed your sense of self. Intense one-on-one relationships are not comfortable for you, but you will find luck in any venture where you lead with your heart and involve yourself personally. Seek closeness and warmth with others.

Embrace your intense creativity. Many of the most modern prolific artists share the north node in 5th house placement with you, including Picasso, Woody Allen, Allen Ginsburg, and Norman Rockwell, all known for their sustained ability to produce quality work. You, too, have such a drive.

You may have difficulty dealing with your sexuality and blame childhood experiences for these issues. It is best to avoid such scapegoating since you are here to take responsibility for creating your own life. Further, sexuality per se is not the issue. As astrologers Bruno and Louise Huber explain of this node placement, sexuality is just one manifestation of a “direct, vital connection between one human being and another,” exactly what you incarnated to experience.

Any time you attempt to come out of your dreams into the world of reality, you will find the support of the universe, for this is your task in this lifetime. As you take responsibility for the world you have created through your thoughts, you shape your own identity. You will see your dreams materialize, but you must own the process. For this reason, you should find good luck in the arts.

Learn to be conscious of how you use your ability to wish things true. If you wish from lowly or base motives, you will find your fantasies materialize in perverse ways and you will have to live with their consequences longer than you ever imagined possible. Be sure your motives are pure.

Children are important figures in your spiritual development. North Node in 5th House often signifies an exceptionally close relationship with them. Angelina Jolie, famous for her growing brood of kids, was born with this placement. So was Mother Theresa. Watch the dreams of the children you know come true and understand the relationship of this to the passage of time. Wishing for the future should not mean a negation of the present moment.

Ultimately, you must not be a follower of dreams but someone who is grounded in the here and now. Only when you are fully in the present can you begin to use your past life gift of “wish power” (as astrologer Martin Schulman calls it) to create a better future for yourself and others. Learn to be where you are and who you are under all circumstances. The more of an individual you become, the happier you will be.

What I've seen from most is that the happiness people feel does not last long and after a while they go back towards their SN because it's familiar. Then later they'll long for the NN and march towards that again...

I think Vedic astrology, which I dont know much about, says the nodes are bad so they avoid nodes, seeing the south as harsh and the north as insatiable -- someone with vedic astrology info can comment more.

oops, I feel sorry for myself. I've seen this a few months ago and that sounds reasonable to me. Why neglect the skills of SN? Maybe it is simply natural that I do one step for NN and go back to SN. Cause SN is in my case the source of my money and all. The axis is in trine & sextile to my MC.

thanks for commenting, rabid.
