Interesting topic! I have wondered about this too, but I just can't seem to be able to find where to try the equal system, at least not at astro.com. Where do I go? Anyone knows?

on astro.com's Extended Chart Selection screen under Options - click on the House systems dropdown menu and instead of 'default' click 'equal' or whichever system you'd prefer

Omg, it's right there! And I have looked over and over again. Can I blame the mercuryRx? Please?

Thank you! πŸ™‚

I'm used to Placidus.

Several people who I respect use the equal house system and that's the only reason I have to believe that's more accurate.

Have I made the change though? Noooo

Same.

Plus... who wants a 4th House Sun??

*Noted, the lovely B-disaster and tizi, fellow

5th Housers, were first responders to this matter.

😐

Wohooo! Great, cause I just wrote a really shitty post...again. Why the heck can't I write anymore...or get my thoughts together? Damn you merc Rx! Damn youuu! Thanks! That felt a lot better! πŸ˜„ Oh, and when that is over I can always go back to blaming pluto Rx for the rape of my poor natal mercury.

Lol yes I was going to repost what I'd found in my new chart but I was really hoping to sweep this 4th House Sun business under the carpet.

It never happened πŸ˜„

Having Fixed Jupiter and Midheaven in the same house was a tempting offer though.

What does that mean? Is fixed MC and jupiter good and what benefits are there to them being in the same house? Sorry for all the noob questions. I'm feeling inquisitive today.

/ merc Rx? πŸ˜‰

Lol @ merc rx

It would literalky mean being larger than life as a presence and all work would be easy work

I haven't looked up the trend of people who have this in their chart though

Interesting. I have fixed jupiter and MC...but not in the same house. This is one thing I like about astrology: there is just no end to it - there is sooo much to learn. πŸ™‚

Astrologers and cat ladies both place my sun in my seventh house. So I'm a noob or a guru...hmm...wichever could it be...? πŸ˜‰

i thought there was vanity there. lol (ie. from the topic in the cap forum and eating chocolate and you have nothing to worry about.)

Nah, I don't hurt that easily...and I'm a friggin guru(or a noob *blushing*) anyway, so I don't have a 7th house sun. Don't worry, I was just trying to be funny. πŸ™‚

Thanks again, Monty for letting me blame everything on merc Rx - seems I sorely need it today. πŸ˜‰

Looks like the only difference to me with equal houses is different placement of midheaven and 4th house, I take those symbolic degrees with a grain of salt but those with equal houses are much more accurate.

Placidus,
cause it's default of cafeastrology
and often the first choice in the drop-down-list of other sites
+ laziness
+ consistency
+ why should I learn something new when I'm not even sure if Astrology is a good thing? bad enough that I take houses into consideration. don't I have the signs to interpret already?

Look at this acrobatics of mind:

In Placidus my 12th house is in Taurus and I have Jupiter Rx in Taurus in it.
In Koch Jupiter Rx is conjunct the 12th h. cusp in the 11th house and my 12th house is ruled by Gemini and empty??_ depending on how you look at it.

I never really stopped to think about what that might mean for me as far as secrets or enemies go.

I've known many people who I called family or friends who have stolen/lied to me.

Maybe that's it.

Thank you Donna. =-)

From https://skywriter.wordpress.com/2009/09/29/7-secrets-you-may-not-know-about-the-12th-house.

Don't we all have somebody in our past who has stolen something from us? It happened to me a few times. Jewelery, photos and even a silk rag. Empty 11th house. Jupiter R in the 4th. But yeah, each time they stole me at home. Confused.

Placidus.

I am not a noob, so HA!

My reasoning is that, while Equal House does give everyone all 12 signs and the degrees are the same, the degrees changing is the thing that gets me.

If you have someone unsure of their Birth time, their rising sign could be off and if That's off, all the houses will be off as well. While with Placidus, I can work with a chart to a limited degree without even having the birth time/Rising Sign.

Naturally a correct birth time is preferred, but look man, some countries don't even put birth times on birth certificates.
