Yep, I get along really well with Cancers (some of the closest people are crab-folk). It's really easy for me to communicate with them and understand their feelings. This helps since as a Leo I may be a bit too impulsive for the traditional Cancer sentiment.

Mercury with Mercury tends to be pretty ideal in terms of communication. The typical "Wow, we communicate perfectly". If it's Mercury to some other planet like Sun or Moon, it's a sense of resonance with what the other person is saying, but actual discourse itself might be off. I would say Sun/Merc is closer to "you get me" (or at least "your words match my vibe" sorta) and Moon/Merc is "you REALLY get me...you express the feelings I can't."

I find Mercury contacts to be extremely prevalent in relationships that start online (makes sense). Seeing that our entire society is pushing towards that direction, I would expect Mercury to become a far more relevant planet in relationship astrology than it has been so far.

Hmm with Sun in Aries and Moon in Pisces, I would think your Midpoint should fall under Pisces/Virgo, yeah. The nice thing about Midpoints is they work on a polarity basis for the most part. Aka conjunct/opposition affects them the most.
I would check to see what planets/asteroids are on the same degree of Pisces/Virgo as that midpoint. You'll find your life keeps going back to those planets/asteroids...I think of Sun/Moon midpoint as a soul mission kind of. Different from North Node (where you are spiritually growing towards). It'll show a theme that keeps showing up in your life really. Planets that aren't conjunct/opposition to that midpoint won't carry the same weight.
