What else must you know in a relationship? Do you just go off sun sign? What else?

Highly agree... You have to look at how you would react to one another... mercury for communication... Venus... of his for finances... love... and health to a point... Mars kinda passion mixed with Venus... Sun and rising... A weird rising could be the guys that act one way in front of their friends and different at round you...

Rising is outer image projected on the world... Sun is soul... or what people come to know once they break though just the projected image... and moon is the mind and what is going on...

Yes... Venus placement can show how show your love or what you are like....

Say if you don't want someone that is social or looks outwardly social... then Gem rising would be hard for you... So like a sag placement or a Scorpio... Cap... even leo... aries... jealous...

Some times some compliment better then others... but in the end you have to look at the over all influences in the chart... because it can be balanced out...

I think ascendants are important: as a Virgo I seem to find myself attracted to people with Virgo rising: also I have Sagittarius rising myself which I think was what probably originally attracted my Sag. ex-partner to me (we also now have a son who is a Sag.) Other than this, Venus-Mars contacts are particularly important I think, also Sun-Moon contacts.
