I should mention that I don't care too much about name brands or fashion per-say, but what I like and what I think looks good on me. I love getting dressed up, but I prefer being more casual,
I don't either. There are a lot of very good quality attractive clothes that aren't by well known designers. I buy a lot of my clothes from designers who have small businesses and aren't well known, and don't charge a fortune, and I have them customized for my measurements when possible so they fit well (I'm quite small so this is often needed).

I also buy vintage clothes, in like-new condition, or dead stock, for reasonable prices.
I love little boutiques! That must be spend getting them sized. I can't do second hand of I don't know who the owner was. A part of me hates myself for it, but it is something I haven't overcome yet.
Me too with little boutiques! I find a lot of very good designers on Etsy.com (designers all over the world) and usually customizations don't cost more. It's, of course, a bit of a risk to not be able to try something on before purchasing, but a good designer using accurate measurements can do a surprisingly good job. I rarely am unhappy with the fit.

I understand how you feel about second hand. I sometimes feel nervous about that too. Deadstock is a good option (items that were never sold, just sat in a warehouse somewhere).

I did not know about deadstock!

Thank you.

As for second-hand (not a fan of the term!), we have what is

technically a consignment shop(pe) in my area... they have

unbelievable finds in there, many of which have never been

worn or used-- tags still on them.

So... you're still going to pay, but nothing like you would, retail.

Love that place. 🙂

It's particularly cool when deadstock is very vintage, even from the 40s, with the original box and wrappings intact. Like going back in time. Rare but it can happen.

I love consignment stores like that. 🙂 I have a few things from a good one and more than 10 years later they are still in great shape. I take care of them, but they were in new, or close, condition to start with and very good quality yet affordable.

If I had a Leo mane I'd be brimming with self confidence as well.
I used to have a leo mane. BF says that it looked like I could tow a car with it, lol. My hair was partially what attracted him to me.

Sadly I've lost half of it. No one would know looking at me, but I know. A leo without a mane is a sad cat indeed.

I've had hair loss too, but it's coming back thanks to diet and supplements that support thyroid health. Have you had your thyroid levels checked? Unfortunately most doctors use reference ranges that don't diagnose people properly. I was told I was fine when my TSH was something like 3.1, and my hair was falling out, but the truth is that a TSH of closer to 0 is actually healthy and hair will stop falling out. The history of diagnosing thyroid issues is a mess, but there are resources available that help people. PM me if you would like to know more. 🙂

Oh yes, I see a naturopath (they can Rx thyroid meds here) who trained with Dr Kharrazian and Ben Lynch. I read up a pot after I was diagnosed. :-)

When dx, my TSH was over 100, TPO antibodies 3000. My TSH is now .01 with Frees in optimal range. Ferritin is 70+ and I also have MTHFR mutations so I'm on a methyl B complex. I have been eating modified Paleo since I tested positive for gluten and a couple of cross reactive foods. My hair is finally getting thicker now.

The loss was so slow I didn't realize how bad it had gotten until I started seeing my scalp through my hair coming out of the shower.

I disagree. everyone has a horrible bias against leos. we are not that vain and shallow. Leo's really don't care that much about looks. I have never seen leos make a big deal about it. Venus ruled people certainly care about such thing for sure. Taurus and libras make a huge deal about looks and physical attraction. Leos are good looking but most of our charm comes form our personality.

Leos care more about personal achievement and recognition. When i see a good looking person who has achieved nothing i look at them like dirt. It means nothing to me. I admit we can be a bit of prestige whores. That is our weakness but we don't give shit about look.
I can agree with this (my Libra bits are partial to good looking types, but they have to be successful or motivated intellectually for me to really get interested).

Good! Yay. 🙂 I understand all of that, thankfully (glad I've researched as much as I have!Ma) and modified Paleo can help a lot. I'm relieved you know all about that and are making progress. Many people don't know and are suffering and don't know why.

Yep, I have a strong family history of hypo, I knew what it was but lole you said, docs weren't looking at the right labs and I preferred to stay in denial until there was no doubt what was going on.

I'm a research fiend and was so sick, I made sure I found the right docs as soon as possible. I was dx 2 years ago at 43 and with the right treatment I feel and look like I did at 30. 🙂

I'm Libra and very concerned/aware of my personal appearance. I would not go so far as to say I'm vain/conceited. I just want to look good. I don't really give any fucks about labels/designers. And I don't really care what other people think of me. I just want my husband to be impressed. Also me. I need to like what I see in the mirror.
I can relate, and a relative of mine with a Libra sun, and several other planets in Libra, would I think agree too.

Libra and taurus girls are the best looking girls for sure. They take pride in their appearance and spend a lot of time and energy trying to look good. I appreciate that as guys love eye candy.

Taurus girls are better looking on average. But libra women destroy them at the top end. I have seen some truly stunning libra girls that literally cause traffic to stop .....

Libra girls are too sexy sometimes. I have to go over and tell them to tone it down a bit.
Do you have any celebrity examples of Taurus and Libra women so I can visualize what you mean about the kind of beauty that they have, in your eyes?

@Nemilicious That's very interesting with the differences between the people you've known and how the traits manifested.

Now I'm thinking of a Leo female I knew in high school. She dressed in what most people might call a frumpy way, but she carried herself with dignity and confidence.

Caring about one's appearance doesn't have to be superficial, I agree. Some people go too far with it, and judge others if they don't "look" right, but most people I know who try to dress nicely aren't like that.

hm my brother in law, the libra sun/pisces moon/cancer mars/virgo venus, who married my Aries sun/taurus moon/pisces mars/aqua venus sister, didnt care about successful women until he met my sister. His first girlfriend was an alcoholic and drug addict and abandoned her child to him (she has several children from other men too) and he was left alone to raise his son with his parents. My sister now is the one who takes care of all of them and of course he helps. He got Lucky with her, everyone says he is VERY vERY Lucky even his parents and family say how VERY VERY LUCKY he is to have found my ambitious, hard working sister.

I have quite a bit of Libra in my chart. Am I vain? No. Self conscious as f*ck? Yes! Add to that a virgo moon, and I'm super self critical. It took me a long time to learn how to accept compliments tbh.
Same with compliments. "Uhh, thanks but I don't look perfect so stop."

Are there any compliments that would be easy for you to accept? For example, if someone complimented something you're wearing, rather than your appearance, so the compliment is on the look and quality of the article of clothing, not necessarily how you look in it, would that be easier?

I attract Leo more than any sign. Then Libra second. They can't be too vain, since I'm more Lisa Bonet bohemian than Beyonce Knowles glamorous. **Shrug**
Fixed vs mutable.

Such an earthy Pisces... it's that Taurean rock-like fixity

Possibly. 😛

Taurus Ascendant/Virgo moon/Sixth house dominant

Do Leos and Libras have a thing for Mercurial women. 😄

I have Taurus ascendant too, and many planets in the 6th house. Gem moon as well. Fairly mercurial chart thanks to the Gem and Virgo influences I guess. Leos and Libras have been drawn to me, but Sag is more commonly drawn to me.

Oops, sorry, lol. Silly of me to not pay attention to your user picture! 🙂

Okay, just lots of Libra in your chart, which still counts. 🙂

Yes.
"That dress is fabulous on you."
"Your shoes are awesome."
"You're so ridiculously intelligent."
All compliments I could easily accept. 😄

@CopperDove- I am a Taurus with Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in Libra. Now I am not vain. But I take the time to dress right down to the tee. I match head to toe at work in my scrub uniforms. I bought the very best scrub brand. I must have my hair perfect in a ponytail usually. Not messy. Even if I wear my hair naturally curly scrunched it's neat and not frizzy. My makeup is a bit eccentric. When I go out with people. My outfits range depending on activities, mood, and weather.. And my body spray and perfume also match my mood.. it ranges though.

I am not superficial but I am quickly draw to what other people have on themselves. It's my fixed venus that seeks out physical attraction is important to me alittle bit..

I attract Leo more than any sign. Then Libra second. They can't be too vain, since I'm more Lisa Bonet bohemian than Beyonce Knowles glamorous. **Shrug**
Fixed vs mutable.

Such an earthy Pisces... it's that Taurean rock-like fixity

of yours.

🙂
Possibly.

I attract sags the third most. Interesting lol. Yes I'm a Pisces, but I attract masculine sun signs the most.

Interesting for sure. 🙂 And I'm a Scorpio, so we're both watery earthy mercurials. 🙂

Good! 🙂 I enjoy those kinds of compliments too, though with intelligence it's so relative to me. I grew up with parents who are highly intelligent (my father is genius level) and I'm above average but not at their level.

Sounds great to me! I would likely do that if I had to wear a uniform.

I have a range of outfits, and shoes, for the reasons that you listed. It's good to be prepared. 🙂

Is your fixed Venus Taurus?

My dad is a mathematical genius and exceptional skilled with building/wood. He keeps all the measurements in his head, barely ever writes any of it down. But he's such a mess otherwise that I win in the smarter dept. lol Although arithmetic is definitely not my strength. I believe all are genius in unique ways. (Einstein agreed.)

When people compliment my appearance in any way, including my clothing, I tend to feel very shy about it. I appreciate the compliments, but I don't like a lot of focus on my looks.

I am more comfortable receiving compliments on my personality, my wisdom, or my intellect because it feels like that person is appreciating my core being. It feels good when someone admires what I have on the inside, rather than just admiring my cover.

I can get shy too with compliments like that. I've gotten less shy (with practice) but it's still there.

It is always good to be appreciated for inner qualities rather than too much focus on outer, I agree! I'm not impressed when someone only focuses on how I look and doesn't seem to care about my personality.

@duchesslibro That's interesting about your dad. Too bad he's such a mess otherwise! I agree that all geniuses are unique.

Both of my parents have an extensive vocabulary but they don't use complex words often because they want to be understood by most people. They both have PhDs but don't use them to lord it over people. My father got his for professional reasons, my mother just wanted one because it was an achievement she wanted to have.

Your parents sound lovely. Getting a PhD "just because" sounds like something I might do. Just for fun. I have Saturn in Sagittarius. Lifelong student. I love the experience of both formal and self-taught education. 🙂

They are very cool people, and they think for themselves (many academic types don't, I've noticed, they are just very good at memorizing things and repeating them in a way that a professor likes). My mom is a Libra with a Libra stellium in the 9th house, so Sag influence big time, and higher learning fits well. Her moon is in Aquarius.

Seems to me earthy academic types think more rigidly and focus mainly on the tangible and whatever is currently accepted as fact. It takes an airy and Sagi mind to be forward thinking and question what most accept as truth.

Great observation! And my dad can fit that, because he's an Aqua/Pisces cusp with moon in Leo and Sag rising.

Not sure if someone already said it this way, but it seems Leos are more concerned with their looks/clothes because of how OTHERS will perceive them, and Libras more just like to be put together and beautiful in general (for themselves most of all). What about Virgos though? It seems Virgos are particular/critical about everything including their own looks.

I'm Libra Rising and Virgo Moon and I'm both aware and critical of my appearance and living space. I notice anything out of place, whether it be a poorly matched accessory in my outfit or a candle that's throwing off the color scheme of my living room.

So Leebs are pretentious.

That's a good point. A Libra relative of mine, with a Libra stellium, seems to do both, but it's more what you wrote about Libra than Leo with her. She doesn't have any Leo in her chart.

I've noticed that too about many Virgos. I am like that myself, probably thanks to my packed 6th house. I'll sometimes spent quite a bit of time rearranging/positioning things in my home if I feel that the look isn't quite right.
