I think it's been two years, this month.

I was researching a sign, which led to dxp.

Found a link here to Astro.com, ran my chart, and the rest is history.

I lurked for a few months before jumping in, of course.

I found a copy of Linda Goodman's _Sun Signs_ in my dad's library as a kid and was shocked at how accurate it was for my sign....that planted the seed early 90's...

later in college, late 90's, there was a psychic who would go to parties and read people. he did a reading for me that blew me away....got into a lot of metaphysical stuff at that point....the public library in center city Philadelphia had a HUGE astrology section with tons of old, out of print books....I would go there all day and read...

Chinese horoscope in the early 80ies.
Sun sign astrology in the early 90ies
Planets, house and aspects astrology since 2007.
This year I learned more about houses, point of Fortune, Vertex and Lilith aspects.
Still not sure if it is a mind game or it is really true.
Still no sign that it made my life better.

Astro came later for me. I thought horoscopes were dumb (still do), and Anytime I read a Taurus Sun description, I was always like pft! I'm not that stubborn, I'm open minded and shit! And really no more stubborn then the next person.

It was also Linda who opened my eyes to what those descriptions meant. I was around 25, at a girlfriends house with a few friends after a night out... under the influence of MDMA. Just kicking back listening to music, I was sketching a celestial sun by request. When one of our friends started reading from her Sun Sign books.

And when they got to my sign, I was like holly shit! I do like comfy chairs, taking in mountain vistas and elephants are my favorite animal to watch at the zoo, I get so excited to see them! And then she talked about being stubborn and I was like "Oh here we go again." *eyeroll* But noooo! what she said made sense. Cus its when I finally make my mind up about something, I dig my heals into the ground and can not be moved. And its sooo true!

And it was that eureka moment where I thought... Finally someone who can understand me! And I could be understood! for the first time I had tools to make sense of it all! And if it can help me make sense of myself, then surely it can help me make sense out of other people, because I was so fucking confused about everyone around me.

So I studied my signs, and I stopped telling people to fuck off because I didn't understand them. But I started to see their motives behind their behavior, and the more I learned the more I started to test my theories and manipulate people. And it worked! I started to feel like I had all this power and I wanted more!

I was drawn in at the tender age of 13. Don't know how, probably just picked up a book on it, but it fascinated me to no end. Even bought those 365 day horoscope books meant for each sign, gosh that was silly. Been into it off and on ever since, except this year I wanted to learn more since I encountered a Gemini man. Never knew about gemini until now and STILL don't know about gem. It's starting to twist me so much here and there, making me question astrology and try to work it in my life. so far, nada. Except I can say I know some secrets of the stars. I know there's a grain of truth in there but no absolutes.

he lent me a book and as I have nearly every sign in my family,I couldn't believe how accurate it was

would love to know which sign he thought I was, can't remember for the life of me

Any sign that it's made your life worse?

My mom always semi liked Astronomy. I'm sure once she bought a book and seen my chart she decided to stop lmao! I always knew I was a Leo since like 10, but like most kids I didn't care. It wasn't until high school where I got into my sun sign. I thought that's all there was, and only knew a full birth chart existed 3 years ago. Researching all the sun signs eventually brought me to the deep confusing realm of Astrology. Everything (like for all people into astrology) was self taught, and its always been in the top 10 of my favorite hobbies.

The part that captured me was how a chart could tell me my childhood, now, and assume my future. I wont lie, it was so dead on I actually cried at the thought something I never knew existed knew I existed. Really, how the fuck?

It's scary how similar this is to how I got started into astrology and how I feel about it. I both love & hate that it reads me so well. Imagine my surprise when I found about birth charts 3 yrs ago, too. The only difference is my mom didn't stop (she stopped with the practical magic books though) and I'm a Cancer. :-)

I got into astrology when my first ex fucked it all up. But now I kinda want to know a person without asking signs, I don't want to base anything on a sign. I want to get to know them. Then if something is unsettling between us. Like certain behavior or characteristics traits then I kinda mention oh btw when's your birthday, and do my private detective work. I look it up. And study them in person and astrology. I usually go to natal charts. But recently astrology is just a quick guide to reference what may be going on or how to deal with them without being judgemental or bias. We don't need astrology to determine anything that is in our guts and intuition. We sense the bullshit and true reality.
