Which one is better a full covered tattoo or a combo of a few?

For me, it depends on the art.

Traditional American/Old School - combo (a lot of people use asterisk stars for the background)

Modern American/New School - both, depending on the pieces & colors

Traditional Japanese - full

Yantra/Buddhist - combo

брaтвa - combo

Hyperrealism - combo, a lot of pieces might look lost in the shuffle if blended together in a background

Abstract - combo, maybe even just one if it's big & interesting

Polynesian/Tribal - partial to full since it's pattern-based

Prison Gang - just no
