My girlfriend got a tattoo with my name

Understanding the Significance of a Name Tattoo in Astrology

A name tattoo in astrology can symbolize deep emotional bonds or commitments. It may reflect a desire for permanence or strong feelings toward someone. However, it does not definitively indicate future compatibility or relationship stability. Consider the context and personal motivations behind the tattoo when evaluating its significance in your relationship.

I'm not really sure how to deal with this. Last year I met a girl in another country whilst on a two week vacation there. I tried to get her a visa to visit me, but it was impossible, it's basically very difficult. Even for a tourist visa, for the country where I live. So I went back to see her for another two weeks. Then she started asking for money, so I said no and we broke up.

I dated a few other people, nothing serious. Then I messaged her 5 months later to see how she was doing (out of interest), and we started texting regularly. Then I managed to get a tourist visa for another country (to see how things would go) and we went away together for two weeks. I've only known this girl one year in total. Anyway when we went away, she showed me her tattoo, it says she loves me and it has my name.

I just don't know what to think, obviously its permanent, and I just kind of thought we didn't know how we felt about each other. I'm just really stuck on what to think, and what to do. I don't know if we can be together in my home country, and I just don't know if she really understands this. I would have to get married to her, and even then, marriage doesn't mean much when applying for a visa, in the country I live. She would have to have a highly-skilled job, which she doesn't have. I know I could try.

I just feel like I didn't have any control over what she's done, although it's romantic in a way, I'm feeling worried because I don't know if it will work out. And I cant be with her when I want at the moment. And although relocating to another country is an option, it's something I didn't really want to do. I just don't know how to deal with it. I like her and everything, but obviously I don't know about marriage yet, and I hadn't really considered myself "taken" because we don't live in the same country.

Did she become your girlfriend before or after you found out about the tattoo?

Don't let this pressure you into something you're not ready to do.

Sounds like she desperately wants to set your relationship and future with her in stone. I wouldn't even feel bad about it. You weren't even aware that she was doing it and if you end things and never speak to her again, she'll be the one left with a reminder, not you. If you don't see a future with her you might want to cut her off soon before things get even more crazy.

My ex husband's 46y.o. mother did that 4 months after she met this English dude online. Went to see him for 2 weeks, after some traveling and hot sex, she came to us with this huge "Rita+Ethan" thing on her leg.

Shit was amazing, I controlled my laughter until we left her house later that night.

Last I heard, they have been broken up for over a year.

Er... you talking about marriage as if its even a consideration. Don't fall into a trap of doing things you are not ready for. She paid for one before, she can pay for its removal or cover up. Bear in mind you have not even lived together. Holidays together is one thing, house habits are on a whole other level. 😄 baby steps

She tattooed your name...so what?

She likes tattoos...couldnt come up with any idea...inked your name

OP if you dont love her, dont commit to her...just coz she has your name inked does not mean you're bound to commit...you didnt tell her to do it...her decision her body her life!

Its a bit manipulative behavior though!

Getting a tattoo of your SO's name is the beginning of the end. Why don't people get that?

HA

I've always thought that too

yea...I'm friends with a tattoo artist who outright refuses to do those kinds of tats because he swears it curses their relationship, every time.

Unless she put your last name too or you don't have an unique name...it could be another dude altogether.

Ijs.

For example if it's John...well she won't have problems getting with Johns henceforth so you needn't think you now ruined her love life. It will be romantic....for all of them.

What if the other woman got "AriesJo" tatted on.

"But I didn't even tell you I post on DXP?"

Yeah, run.

What country is she from?

And can we safely assume she is goin to hack you to pieces and spread your body parts in a small lake

If you show the slightest disinterest in her?

Dude, you're a snob by the way you think. OK, look, first of all, what she did was immature and somehow i'm guessing you're not over 20 of age and neither is she because what you're actually telling us sounds like a teenage affair.

Also, i called you a snob because you actually require her to have a highly skilled job and other stuff for marriage when it's actually the personality of the person that should count because the others come after.

She could be your crazy, next stalker or she could just be emotionally immature but eitherway if you see anymore red flags, take notice and run. You have no responsability towards her and neither she, towards you. Be honest with her.. if she doesn't accept that you don't think you two have a future then don't continue this because one of you will get hurt or both, who knows.

Her having a decent job isn't his personal requirement. It's asked for whatever visa she would need to be close to him.

I think him spending a couple weeks with her, then leaving for a while, and them eventually breaking up, to then have her tattoo his name on her with no real sense of certainty as to where they stand (op doesn't even know how to feel about her) is plenty enough to grab his things and run.

I find it suspicious even for the most passionate.

I know, half of me wants to run and the other half is thinking about just seeing how it goes (which was my plan before).

And I do feel obligated even though I know I shouldn’t.
