A crazy, dramatic, dysfunctional...but obsessive and intensely magnetic attraction for the first 5 years. Massive power struggles. Everyone around us thought we were bad for each other, and we probably were but couldn't keep away from each other.

After about 10 years, things calmed down and we began to really understand each other. We've been together for 20+ years.

In order to understand each other, there will arise a conflict. Conflicts are common in relationships. If there is no conflict, I'd be very concerned. It is an indication of a possessive, control freak; or there exists a lack of understanding between each party; or the relationship does not exist and is merely fantasy; or there is one member who compromises and the other lacks sympathy. If there is no conflict, at least one is clearly mentally ill.

The happiest couples are the ones that seldom fight about anything.

Nah, conflict is normal. The Sagi and I fight all the time but in the end I'm thankful for those disagreements and conflicts; after a resolution, we move past it and we end up having a rounder understanding of eachother. To resolve issues either one or both of us adapts more to the other, and we become better for each other as a result. It's a learning experience. There is no manual on "how to be partnered with person X." personally, I have a strong temper, as does probably more than half of the human population. Conflict is bound to happen between two people unless they have super powers of self control, don't know anyone who does though.

It's ideal to be without conflict, though that doesn't mean it is unhealthy to have it. We don't live in an ideal world, nothing is perfect, and what may be unhealthy and unhappy to you may be another person's paradise.

Conflict is OK, but not the kind that is never resolved. Honestly, I would rather have a relationship with someone who has a lot fewer squares and oppositions in their chart as a long term partner.

Learning about yourself and how to relate to differences with someone you love is great and all, but having dealt with it for literally decades DOES take its toll. It can get tedious. Drama is great when you're youngung, probably necessary.

Not saying I'm not glad I stayed wth it, but it isn't easy.

Things started out great and were very easy in the very beginning, almost too good to be true. It's only been 4 months and now we're interrupted by necessary distance. We don't have major problems, just these hiccup issues. He's relationship lazy when things are great and great about communicating to resolve issues. I'm more conscientious about the health of the relationship, but really bad when it comes to conflict. I tend to flee the scene and I'm the type that doesn't have a problem not coming back. I keep the relationship moving forward, but he keeps me IN the relationship when conflict rears its ugly head. There is A LOT of subtle jealousy/mistrust/possessiveness in this relationship that sits there like a fog. We haven't resolved that. We just sorta deal with it as something that is just a part of our dynamics. I seem to need more from this relationship than any other EVER and I'm not comfortable with that. lol

It's the first equal romantic relationship I've ever had. Every other one has been me taking care of a partner, only wanting the partner in one specific aspect or them wanting me in only one specific aspect.

I have Chiron conjunct Moon in Cancer in the seventh. Pretty much all my relationships before him were fixer uppers, lol. I always wanted to heal someone. Shit even friends. My mom tells me all the time "Elly stop making friends with people who always want you to heal them." lol. She's a Libra/Cap, my struggle is foreign to her 😛

Yep I laugh at people who try to through relationship issues in your face like duh! No ish Sherlock, relationships of ALL kinds go through rough patches but if you share a common goal and want the best for each other, issues will ultimately only make you stronger and continue to bring you closer and not tear you apart.

When people say we never fight, that is the first red flag that they're relationship is in trouble. There are no relationships that do not go through tough times whether its' mother/child, siblings, or mates. That's also why some people do not know how to cultivate healthy relationships because they have unrealistic expectations then wonder why they're alone and can't get anyone to stick around.

Then they do the worse thing and link up with people who are miserable just like them and promote their negativity instead of looking in the mirror and realizing they have issues within themselves they need to fix instead of latching on to someone else trying to get them to fix your issues.

The problem with a lot of people here is they are so focused on signs and placements for answers instead of using placements as a guide for them to figure shit out.

My parents are astrological opposites. Aries sun/Cancer moon and Libra sun/Aqua moon, married for 40+ years. So I always facepalm myself when I see threads of how Aries/Libra relationships won't work.

i hardly ever see libras run over to the aries forum and bombard there though. maybe they are afraid of their opposite?

or i dont see a whole lot of aries going to the libra forum either. Maybe just here on dxp they dont like them. but in the outside world, it's a different story. *shrug*

These positive reports make me really question astrological theories about synastry. Lots of incompatible signs and aspects that are working out well, it seems.

I know that sometimes the houses make a difference, according to the theories, and that's missing from these reports.

But I suspect that if people posted house information, it still wouldn't add up to fit the theories about synastry.

I agree. I was finding more truth in synastry theories when I looked at relationships I'm very familiar with, but of course there is a lot of bias built into that potentially.
