Air Sun, Cancer Moons-- How do you like to be comforted?

I'm definitely always open to listening for sure, and I guess I'll stick with that, but I always felt bad because I wasn't sure that it was enough. But thank you for your feedback! I'll try to make even more of an effort to show that I'm here and willing to listen to them!

Hello, I've had an interesting amount of Air Signs with Cancer Moons in my life, and each is similar, yet different. One was a Libra Sun I knew two years ago, and, yikes, he didn't like me towards the end. He was being petty towards a mutual friend of ours for seemingly no reason, so I politely told him that he was being rude and that maybe it'd be best if we all took some time and space from one another. He did not like this. He slammed the door on the way out and hasn't contacted either of us since... Which, oh well.
I have since learned though, with a Gemini Sun Cancer Moon, to /not/ do that. My friend is sweet, but moody, even childish sometimes when she's in a real funk. She'll get upset sometimes when I don't implicitly understand what she means (or indulge it). One recent instance was when she just threw money at my desk because I offered to pick up drinks for people, but wouldn't tell me what she wanted, so I kept asking because I was confused. She then exclaimed, "What I want is to the use the bathroom!" and then stormed out of the room to do just that. Frustrating? Yes, but I've learned that it passes just as quickly as it comes on, so nothing big. And she can be very generous and giving and considerate otherwise.
However, I still run into some inner frustrations with Cancer moons, so what I'm wondering is, when you're feeling kinda funky or sulky, what do you personally think a friend should do in that moment? I love you guys, you can be great and super compassionate, but sometimes I just can't understand you for beans!
