Cancerian’s are they just friendly and polite to everyone?

I’m a Gemini with Scorpio moon. Think I’ve developed a bit of a work based crush. I’m not in the same department as this guy, more that we’re both in the same building and cross paths a couple of times a day but don’t directly work together.

At first glance I thought he was just a handsome chap and that was it but upon speaking and finding out he’s got a similar outlook and into some of the same things as me (crystals, law of assumption, being high vibrational, just in a nutshell) also he has a really nice voice. Anyway I’ve kind of gone from yeah you’re alright, to yeah I could easily imagine fucking this dude. Anyway I thought there was a bit of a vibe or connection so told him to his face I had a bit of a crush on him, no point admiring from afar, I did ask my good friend and colleague to do a little digging first on behalf and she told me he was single. But when I told him he wasn’t impressed and said work things never end well, sorry! Sooo I got it wrong, we’re fine, I’ve spoke to him since and happy to just be friends cos he still has the qualities I thought were good to start with, he is intelligent and a good conversationalist.

I’m just a bit confused how I misjudged it, wondering if Cancerians are just friendly to everyone because although I’m a friendly person, I tend to only give my proper attention to people I’m interested in whether romantically or intellectually.
