Passive aggressive then love bombing

My boyfriend (cancer) has been showing me a lot of passive aggression lately, and also tried to make me jealous a few times (which I did not fall for).

Now when I said he was being mean to me, he started showering me with affection and love, also asking me if I still love him. It was genuine. But it is super confusing.

Can someone explain this behaviour to me?

He seems resentful, for some reason. If you don’t know why, just ask him. Him showing regret and making amends is not enough, if you want to understand what’s going on.
