Yesterday a kid on the school bus called my 5yr old niece the "B" word. Wow is all I can say.
Of course my sister tried to go on the bus this morning. She wasnt allowed, so she spoke to the kids from the sidewalk. She told them to leave my niece alone and if anything else happened she will be knocking on their doors and speaking to their parents. This is the 3rd incident shes had to confront. Really the 4rth since my niece said the gym teacher kissed her on the forehead. I forgot, she also had to tell the boys on the bus to stop writing and giving my niece things.
So much you have to deal with as a parent it seems. I wonder if i had my own would i be as confrontational or tell my child to just ignore it all. Seems like too much.
Sometimes kids need to learn to solve their own problems. Granted the girl is young, but your sister shouldn't step in every single time. The girl needs to learn how to speak up for herself. Maybe give her some words to use next time and if that doesn't work, then teach her to kick people in the shins?
Your sister's a virgo, right? I know a lot of virgo moms always running up to the school to "address" issues on behalf of their kids. Seems like they make it a whole lot more dramatic than it has to be.click to expand

Agreed. Though she's still young, kids still laugh at those who have their parents intervene. 'You can't handle it yourself so you have your parents help you?' In the end, the mother talking to the kids directly is going to make the situation worse. If she's going to talk to anyone, she needs to go straight to the parents. The kids who are bullying the other child have a better chance of respecting the authority of their parents than another random adult. Although, I agree, the child needs to learn to fend for herself.click to expand

I remember when they dated, sometimes he'd be at our house in a closet or something hiding. How he'd get in? who know. He's always been kind of weird like that.

What the fuck? I'd probably be a bit concerned. What was he going to do when/if he got into your house is the question I'd be asking.click to expand

It's frustrating when someone won't communicate with you. On top of anything said or done being dismissed simply because it came from you.

Wonder what would happen if we started giving advice the OP is wanting to hear.
OP: "My bf never calls me, only wants to come over, we do our thing, then he leaves, he doesn't want to go out in public. Do you think he loves me?"
Caps: Oh, honey, rejoice, he loves you! Start picking out your wedding dress!

My cappy daughter was meek and mild, wouldn't step up, then she learned how to punch people in the face. Okay, not the best way to handle it, BUT, after she punched one kid (sweet libra moon couldn't stand seeing someone else get bullied), no one else messed with her. Ever. I think even the boys were afraid of her.
