I discovered that making hash browns (get them really crispy, but not burnt) then drizzling maybe a teaspoon of ranch dressing over them, then drizzling maybe three tablespoons of ketchup over that, then mixing it all together, and then frying two eggs sunny side up and placing them on top makes a really interesting breakfast (or dinner, or lunch - anytime, really). I completely realize how horridly yucky that sounds, but it isn't. Oh, don't forget to add salt and pepper. And I would have added scallions, but I didn't have any. And I would have added bacon, but didn't have any of that, either.

I'll see you at the airport! 😛

I always butter the toast while it's still warm. Few things gross me out as much as chunky, unmelted butter on toast.

And I discovered it's better to use butter rather than canola oil, when doing the hash browns. I just feel like it tastes better with butter. And, I confess, it scares me when the oil pops. 😛

You know, I didn't think fire scared me, until one night a couple years ago when my ex and I accidentally drove right into the middle of this madness downtown where a building with chemicals in it had caught fire and there were sirens and police and the big red trucks and everything and it scared me to death because we were semi-trapped in all the traffic (the fire had just started minutes before) and there was smoke everywhere and you could literally feel the heat coming from the fire, because the building was only about 20 feet away from his car. And I just about burst into tears I was so scared! I know, how silly. It's just that fires, up close, are completely different than seeing them on tv or whatever. Finally we got out of there, the police were directing traffic, it was horrible. It was a big fire, too, and it was on the news and everything.

But, I know - shame shame, about the scallions. 🙂
