Even with all the natural cataclysms in the world, humanity still finds the time to make their own cataclysms. The wars, the riots, and all of the violence has been a thing of the world forever now. In this game you must be able to withstand all the violence and madness even if you do end up “dead” more than once.

In the game of cataclysm comes different scenarios and different elements that you all will have to withstand. It really is a game within a game within a game.

This game is quite based on the online game Sequester. (Sidenote: Some of you should try and get on Sequester and rep DXP gamers tbh). However Ive put a huge DXP twist on this game. I know DXP gamers love them some mafia and I have always tried to evolve the game of mafia and for this I evolved it into mini mafia like games. Games with no nights that just end in a day. Need a lot of graves for such a game, but it does level the playing field where townies have been mostly winning Mafia games for a long time now.

I digress. Let me try and explain the three elements to Cataclysm.

The first part is the main ground work of the game. The main thing you are trying to do is not get eliminated from the cataclysm. Every day is a new round and at the end of the round, 1 or more people will be eliminated from the overall game. The way people are eliminated is they are voted out by their fellow players. Now how does one stay in the game? That all depends on your strategy. You could just go out and win as many mini mafia games and as many Apprentice challenges as you can, because if you win those you are safe from being eliminated in that round. You could have an alliance of who knows how many that could try and help get you to the end. Or there is always the very dramatic style of stabbing people in the back to get to the end. Whatever you try and do is up to you. But remember that in the end your goal is to be in the final 2 and have a chance to become the first ever Cataclysm Winner.

The 2nd element to Cataclysm are the rounds. Every round is a new challenge. It could be a mini mafia game like stated earlier. In these games the death rate will be high, but if you are on a team and die you as a team could still win and be safe from elimination. The great thing about these mini mafia games is it does mean that if you are gonna figure out information about other players, you will have to move fast. No lollygagging waiting for votes. No trying to blend into the background because here, it could just get you murdered super-fast. The best thing about these mini games for me though is knowing you cannot get too comfy and confident to your role & the roles around you and think you have it all figured out because once one game is over, you will have to wake up the next day in a whole new game, a whole new role, and new win scenarios. There will be no getting comfortable.

However that is not all. After you are going through these mini mafia games of pure savagery you then may find yourself the next day having to work together with your fellow savages in an Apprentice game. Where you may have to work together and create a mini ad campaign or work together and create a vocaroo advertisement. Isn’t it beautiful 🙂

But then of course the next day you may find yourself having to kill each other again. Along the way there will be a few different kind of rounds as well, but they all serve the same purpose. The winner or winners of the daily rounds are safe from elimination that night. Winning these games are tools to saving yourself from being eliminated.

The third and perhaps controversial part of the game is an aspect pulled straight out of the likes of Sequester or Big Brother. Since the audience of my games likes to involve themselves 10 out of 10 times anyway with either cheating behind the scenes or trying to annoy the host, I figured if you cannot beat them join them. Now of course my #choices always have a reason and this is so I can at least try and control audience involvement. And if anything maybe the shiny Audience thread will distract them from trying to help players in other ways. So the audience may send an advantage or disadvantage your way. Now I know what some of you are thinking, “Fuck them theyre going to ruin the game!” “oh noes the audience hates me they’re going to give me so many disadvantages and give my rivals so many advantages.” That will not happen because there is a catch or 2.

*No player will be able to receive more than one disadvantage throughout the entire game. Once a player has received a disadvantage, no other votes by the audience against that person will count for future disadvantages.

Though there is the caveat of there being a possibility that everyone left in the game has had an advantage and if that happens, then advantages would reset and anyone could get them again.

Then there is also the little nugget that the audience will never know exactly what they are voting for. I will just be asking questions on an audience thread and the audience will have to vote via PM. The questions will correspond to something, but the audience will have no idea what they correspond to. All in all keeping the audience on their toes as well.

Also the first 4 players eliminated from the game can vote with the audience as well. However anybody eliminated after that cannot because they will be on the jury that decides the winner at the end.

So all of these scenerios are the cataclysms you will have to survive to get to the end and be the first ever winner. Will you back stab? Will you go on a killing spree in mini mafia? Will the audience liking someone put a target on their back? Will you create a great mini ad campaign? Will you outsmart both the players in the game and the audience? Get ready for so many scenarios your head may hurt. 😛

The DXP Game vet is always excited at the thought of getting to murder you all. When she is good in a mafia game she is good…and when she is bad she is better. Don’t let the innocent cat avi fool you because she does play for keeps. Will all of her experiences with mafia, Apprentice, Survivor, DXPIL, and the mole bring her to the promise land of being the first ever Cataclysm winner?

Once the Batman to Scruffles Robin, Squishy has come into her own where mafia games are concerned. The last few mafia games she has been a champion for the townies, but how will she fair in a more layered game? She has momentum on her side and if she can use gemini in her favor rather than detriment she is a contender. Will her momentum from mafia games carry into Cataclysm and take her to becoming the first ever winner?

She may be seen as an enigmatic player. Do you know Fortuna’s gamer style yet? Whatever it will be do not be fooled by her Sag sun, she is here to win.

We stay on the same trend here with another person who in recent months has been able to use their roles in mafia games well. She is learning to master roles in mafia, but what will her role be in the overall game of Cataclysm? Without FknNerd around to battle with will her renewed focus hone in on becoming the first ever winner?

A veteran of mafia games, but more impressively the first ever and only winner of DXP Apprentice. She has the skills to carry out these games when she wants to, but can she defeat her Achilles heel? The scorpio in her always has her as one of the masses main targets. She will need to endure against that possibility and use her skills to make her the first ever winner of Cataclysm as well.

One of the most underrated performers in mafia as she is one of the best at being able to dodge you finding out her true role. If she is underestimated in this game she could be going far. Lest we forget that she is still a gemini and looking to pull one over on everybody to get to the end and be the first winner.
