I played #1 doubles in high school, and also in college. Up until a couple years ago when I injured my left knee for the 3rd and final time, I had to give up tennis. which has been a killer for me as it was definitely my passion, my release.

I don't know if gemini's are prone to loving tennis and excelling in it, or if it's just a matter of co incidence. One thing I have noted, however, most gemini's I know, including one of my son's, are very competitive and have a strong work ethic. I have always been like that. Despite the matches that my partner and I won during those years, I was never satisfied with my results. I always pushed myself harder. My partners (not gems) never had the killer instinct i had nor felt the pain of losing a close match as intensely and for the long duration I did.
I'm sure some of that had to do with our family lives and how we were raised. I was raised with an alcoholic and controlling father who berated me often. So he built up a lot of anger inside of me and I used tennis to vent and hit the crap out of the ball.

One thing I've noticed about Nadal (my personal current favorite male tennis pro) is that not only does he bring a ton of skill and passion to his game, but he brings constant precision. And when he makes errors, he gets upset with himself, but doesn't go into fits of rage, IE: my all time favorite male tennis icon, John McEnroe. Nadal has that inner fire burning. All you have to do is look in his eyes when he's playing a tough match.

@gemini64. John machenroe was my favorite tennis player back in the day too. male. my favorite female tennis player was (and still is) monica selas. btw the williams sisters venus and serena will be here in my state 31st march. me and my wife are making plans to take the long drive down to daniel island to see them in action. can't wait. i'm very exited. it will be telivised nationwide. so if you see a big guy with long shoulder length curly black and grey hair with glasses in the stands making funny faces, lol. you'll know that's me.

I love tennis players who demonstrate passion over the Mime look, IE Roger Federer. when i was in HS, not only did I use the same Jack Kramer Pro Staff racket he was using at the time, but i style d my serve after his. drove my coach nuts as it was unorthodox. however, i could put a spin on the ball that helped me ace a lot of right handed players in the deuce court.

I enjoy both the Williams sisters, except when they are competing against each other. it just seems to take something out of their game. Selena is probably my favorite of the two because of her aggressive style and her competitive passion. Even when she gets really pissed and acts childish, i have to laugh. not because it's the best thing to do at the time by professional standards, but because it's exactly how i often felt and wanted to act during my HS tennis days; knowing that my coach would kick my butt literally if i did, i refrained.

honestly, i've never enjoyed Monica Selas. Her constant yelling (screeching) drives me crazy. I know there are other females on the tour that do the same thing. It's distracting to say the least.

BTW, enjoy the match. I've attended only one pro match, the one in Indio, CA they have every year. It was a a great time.
