Yep, I tend to overthink things, too. Just have to remember to take things at face value...
Sounds to me like he was hoping, but now that you have "closed the door" he got his answer. I'm not saying you did this on purpose, but it happens. He's an aqua. You have to be completely up front with them. And, they'll appreciate you for it! Seeing, you two live in different countries, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Something you said caught my eye, tho... You said you didn't want to appear vulnerable and sleep over.... The reality is, you appeared vulnerable the second you had sex with him. Something to mull over.
If you want to fix any of it.... Just talk to him openly and honestly about it. Problem is, you only have a 50/50 chance of it going anywhere other than friendship at this point. With some aquas, once you've closed the door, it will stay closed forever. Others it varies.... He could either be understanding now, or understanding years from now. Hope this helps. 🙂

I met this guy a month ago online (Aquarius) and we ended up having "routines" (e.g. texting daily when we wake up/go to bed/talk about each other's days in brief. I also noticed that if I didn't text him the entire day, he would ask me if everything's okay). I was scheduled to vacation to the country where is based at for work. It was exciting cause it gave me something to look forward to. However, being the gem overthinker that I am, I sort of conditioned myself to approach the situation as if it were a one night stand so I won't end up losing (Gem ladies, I'm sure you know what I mean 😉 ). So last week we met up and had sex (which was off the charts) during my first night in that country. I couldn't get a clear read on him so right after the sex I told him that I wanted to go home. He sounded surprised and asked me how I will get home. I told him I'll cab it. (My friends were furious telling me that he was expecting that I sleep over. Maybe, but I didn't want to risk exposing myself as vulnerable). I went on with our text routines and after a day, he asked to meet with me again. On my last day he asked me for my flight and told me where he was. I didn't know what to do, cause I was pressed for time, and he never told me directly that I should head to that restaurant to meet him. I texted him when I got to the airport (he was due to fly back to his home country that day as well) thanking him for the great time. He wished me a safe trip home. I guess I expected more so I replied telling him I'll text him once I've landed. Which I did, and he replied telling me he was just checking in.
SO I thought to myself that that was that. I was secretly asking for some sign. I planned to text him after a day to let him know I hope he landed safely blah blah blah, and I was pleasantly surprised when I found a text from a number I didn't recognize. It was him telling me that he has landed.
Could this be the "sign" I was looking for? He could have easily just left things where they were. Afterall, technically we won't have to see each other again.
OVERTHINKING begins.
