Trying to get over my Gem love. It's so hard

Hi there. I had a casual relationship with a Gem man last year. We met in January 2013 and last spoke three weeks ago so it lasted about a year. Being a Leo woman, I most likely came on too strong near the end and tried to hold onto something that wasn't there anymore. In one of his last texts to me, he said...you are a good person. I enjoyed your company when I saw you. I always felt comfortable when we were together.
He had also told me just prior to that text that he was feeling mixed up and was struggling with some issues re: his son and ex.
I haven't heard from him in three weeks and I last texted him two weeks ago. Based on what he said, should I consider it over and that I won't hear from him again? I am 40 and he is 44.
