Nasty vs...what? (STD)
Haha......that is what she said to me "that son of a bitch, goddamn mother fucker has given me a nasty STD"

STI = sexually transmitted infections are curable. Things like chlamydia.
STD = sexually transmitted diseases are generally long term or not curable, like HPV, herpes, or HIV
i'm not ashamed to admit that i had no idea about the difference

I think they started using two different terms maybe 10 years back to lessen the stigma since it was all getting lumped into one group and people were too embarrassed to get help.

Herpes are unfortunate. I try not to judge because I've known women who got herpes because they were raped by men who had it.
Then there was my boyfriend who worked for a pharmacy and told me about the women who would come in for their herpes meds while their mouths were covered in sores.... lol.....this was a college town so...yeah..nasty....

It's not different. It is still an STD. Usually when it's on the mouth they got it from oral sex..or kissing someone on the mouth who has it.
