When I was in grade school, kids made fun of my hairy armpits on the bus. They told me to high five them trying to trick me into exposing my unshaved armpits after accidentally exposing them once already.
In the school buildings, I was made fun of for the way I dressed especially by other girls at the schools. A lot of them were on sports teams.
I was really smart, but I tried hard to fit in with the other girls. I tried to please my teachers and my parents so much with the best grades and zero mistakes that took points off my grades. I would get really upset and embarrassed and scared even if I got a 98 on an assignment or test.
Being advanced in my music studies, I didn't hang out with my classmates unless it was during the school day because I was busy practicing my violin and piano, taking lessons, classes, and traveling for auditions and competitions. I had one friend. We hung out until she started dating her girlfriend at the time; after that, she and her girlfriend hated me. I don't remember what the incident was about.
Especially being in special ed, I felt embarrassed and ridiculed and ugly because I didn't play sports and I took extra time for exams and I was in adaptive PE. And classmates laughed at me and talked shit.
