I don't like your drop down page number solution at the top of the page.I know i said i was happy you put something there, Its not flowing at all.
The problem is when i go to a thread I can no longer asses where I am, and where i have been, and I have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to see which page numbers I've clicked on, and how many page numbers I need to still read. This is extra steps and extra time.
If the page numbers were listed individually at the top of the page again, i would be able to make quick assessments and decisions about what i want to do, faster.
It already directs you to the last place you were at when you enter the thread.

No not every time, if you click on a thread from the board its on it will, but if you click on it from the front page it wont.
And it still doesn't give you that heads up display overview of where you have been and how much there is to go.

So don't access a thread from the front page?

What do you not get about there being more than one issue, with a solution that only solves one.
And if its a Navigation issue, i shouldn't have to "don't access a thread form the front page"
This is a HOW TO MAKE THE SITE BETTER board, not a HOW WE CAN HELP YOU SETTLE FOR LESS board.
Oh idk dazed you seem to get real excited about winning the DXP King Award every year..
Now please stop talking to me
I'm sorry do I need to validate myself to you, to make a suggestion to the site?
If you want to provide me with proof that you own this site, I will be happy to delete my account.

What does me "owning" this site have to do with anything?
You had a problem.. I offered you a solution to your problem.

and yet I've already explained to you how that solution wasn't good enough and didn't solve all the problems. So idk why your still talking about your "great" solution.
And its a problem because I don't remember asking for your help, so if i am indeed doing that because you are the person responsible for making this site better. I would rather leave.

A solution for you isn't necessarily the solution for the DXP population as a whole. Last time I checked.. you aren't the only user here. And I don't see too many other folks complaining. Maybe when they do.. something will be change.
You're free to leave whenever you'd like though 🙂

Well I don't think you are in a position to make that decision or any decisions here, so I'd be super happy if you'd stop talking to me like I asked earlier.
if i understand this correctly, the drop down number function doesn't let you know what pages you've previously viewed or haven't viewed and you lose your place on the thread. so you scroll down to see what pages you haven't viewed by the numbers that are highlighted.

yes. And even if they were highlighted on the drop down list, it would just be another step to click on it
um
so you read through a whole page on the thread and scroll back up to select the next page to read from the drop down number function?
im going to jump the gun, robyn you can click on the page numbers at the bottom of each page to continue.

That is not an effective solution, when we are talking about this kind of application design. It is not efficient function.

will this help you to navigate better than before though?
and its not just clicking the bottom of the page...
when you scroll down its a pretty involved action for an application, because you either are to grab the scroll bar and drag it down or click and hold the scroll down arrow key till the page reaches your destination, or you keep turning the scroll ball knob on your mouse.
either way all of these options more than quadruple the amount of time spend if it was simply back at the top of the page.

It will help me navigate as well as before.
i'd like to help further robyn but it wouldn't be appropriate to offer free ideas to outside parties.
