I don't have this problem with most of the Leos I come across. Maybe 1 or 2 but most of them are not prone to lying, even in situations where their personalities or self-image is being questioned. Some of them tend to be downright self-deprecatory (Virgo moon).
Maybe the Leos you encounter are just lying assholes who happened to be Leos.

They're more aligned with the self deprecating type. I'm well aware of how awesome Leos can be when they aren't fuck nuts, but all I come across are freaking fuck nuts. :/

It just gets so old listening to this nutter variety victimize themselves, woe is them, they're never to blame. Truth embellishing, etc. I've had a few coworkers in the past who were like this, I have a current coworker who is like this (she goes around lying about all her ailments, and even told a coworker she had cancer, which was bs because she was telling everyone else she had kidney problems).
Last night, I caught my brother's gf in a huge lie, which didn't surprise me. I catch her lying all the damned time.
Hell, I know even my dad had a tendency of embellishing the truth here and there.
Fuck, even Ryan Lochte was caught being a dipshit liar about his robbery story in Rio.
I'm just baffled at the motivation behind it. Is it for attention? I've wondered this for quite some time because I've noticed a trend as of recent, and then last night with his gf lying like an asshole... I don't get it.
In that situation per se, I'm just trying to better understand as opposed to slapping the ever loving shit out of her and telling her to stay the fuck away from me. The rest, I just distance myself from and stay civil if they talk to me. I don't have time for crazy liars. :/

Maybe you're too mean face to face? I mostly lie to avoid conflict with people I know will get bitchy about my choice or opinion. These type of people are the same type who say "Just be straight up honest, I won't be mad/upset. I hate when people lie to me." Yet when people do tell them the truth they act the complete opposite and get mad and upset just like they said they wouldn't, making them a liar themselves.
I've noticed (some of them, not all) like to exaggerate stories, twist things, gossip. Sometimes lie, but I don't think they're very good at actually straight out telling a lie, twisting the truth is more their style . I've seen it in so many leos, they're charming so they get away with it.
I have trust issues with Leos, but then I've been f'd over a lot by a few Leos in my time, I'm always going to be wary, I tend to keep them at a distance nowadays.
