I'm a hair stylist/makeup artist . I always enjoyed beauty related things, but started going to school to major in criminal justice because I wanted to work for the fbi. My family always said that hair stylist isn't a "real job" . So that's why I didn't go with cosmetology. Anyhow, I got bored with school and decided to pursue becoming a cosmetologist and I'm so happy. My schedule is flexible, you get to travel, and most I work with make 3,000 a week just cutting and coloring hair.

So I'm excited to see where it takes me.
Cool! I also studied make up artistry and hairdressing after school (although I wasn't as keen on that part of it) Later in my life i've become more interested in criminology and law.

Health & benefits consultant (aka actuarial prostitute). I thought it was the perfect profession for me, since I enjoy doing quantitative analysis as well as problem solving.

I'm enjoying it, for the most part. My dream job was anything that requires minimal effort that pays decent bucks, so actuary is pretty close to it. But truth be told, it does get stressful, especially when the economy tanks as it has. Plus, long hours & stressful environment

Perks:

Free soda, pays well, lots of traveling.

I am a wardrobe buyer for a television show and work part-time as a client advisor for a luxury brand. I studied fashion in college and yes, it is something I've always wanted to do but I've always been torn between the creative, visual, & tactile aspect of fashion vs the classist nature & socio-economic divide involved within the industry. Prior to this, I worked as an event coordinator for a marketing firm (great job but pay was sporadic since you get paid as soon as the event is over after months of planning + I got to work on fashion shows & promoted local brands) and as a social media manager for an event company (easy work but pay was not that great)

Wardrobe Buyer

PRO: excellent pay & benefits, creative work (I get to choose outfits for the characters on the show), built rapport with several brands & retailers, networking lead to events & other avenues

CON: long hours (usual day is 8AM-9PM), high stress, temporary nature of business (who knows how long the show will be on for)

Client Advisor

PRO: simple duties, very relaxed work environment, great team to work with

CON: fickle clientele (the privilege that many clients exude is ridiculous), people assume I'm a snob because I work there
