Should I do this?

So I just got to know yesterday that I have a wedding to attend in 3 days. Now I had no idea that my fate would turn out to be this way. The wedding location is just 15min from where this libra guy lives. Long story cut short. We really liked each other. Then I told him that I like someone and since then he kept growing distant each day and he demanded space. So either he was hurt assuming that I like someone else but him or he understood that I was referring it to him and so he freaked out. I have a hard time figuring out the truth. So anyway,so he's asked me for space and he's been ignorant. Also on april end,he said that he feels as if I'm stalking him and of course that got on my nerves. This whole thing happened on early april. He did approach me of his own thrice but I've been ignorant. I had a chat with him 3 days ago(just to test the water).He replied once and so did I and that was the end of the conversation. So I realized that the dust hasn't settled yet.
Now I am attending this wedding with my best friend(guy). He thinks my best friend and I really like each other as more than friends. I've realized that libra's aren't too good in manifesting their insecurity. However,once he somehow did. He got angry when my bestie and I kept talking for long over the phone and then he checked my phone messages. He acted all casual but I caught him.

Anyway,so my main question is..Considering his current behavior with me,is it okay if he comes to know that I'm visiting his area? I mean,he's crazy.He might again think that I'm stalking him.I know my best friend will update some status on fb and he'll get to see it and he'll get to know that I'm there. So is it okay if he knows? or should I just not let him know? My friends said that they feel that he should know that I'm there and yet I didn't feel the need to mention it to him of my own. I don't know.I'm still dubious.
It's a small issue but I thought some input would be nice.

Honestly,yeah I want it to be that way too. I just planned that I'll attend the wedding,have fun.no him related drama and even if he does come to know that I'm right by him,then I shouldn't react to that at all.

I shouldn't care if he reads my friend's status update stating that I'm there. Also,I don't want to care about what he might be thinking. It's just that my friends have been pestering me with this silly idea of trying to make him jealous and let him see that I don't care enough about him to let him know that I'm visiting his town. No idea why they feel this would help him get back to his senses and get him back to me. They said guys work this way LOL. I saw this working with an aries guy though but again it's an individual thing.

I ruled out their plan because I felt it's silly but then I thought of considering an outside perspective since they were insisting too much.
