This has got to be my favorite of all the Opens to watch. Yeah I'm a bit bias in a sense that my favorite all-time player Nadal is King of Clay, however, that's only 2nd to why it's my favorite to watch. To me, red clay is just simply one of the most challenging courts to play on for many players. Even though I watch women's tennis from time to time, men's tennis by far is where my passion lies. And it seems like we'll be watching the 'finals' before they make it to the actual "Finals" with the top 3 best clay players in the top half of the draw: Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray. I'm really hoping for a Nadal vs. Djokovic match in the quarterfinals....feels like Christmas Eve whenever I watch these 2 play in any of the finals 🙂! I'm also hoping for a Federer vs. Wawrinka in the quarters as well....then I "know" it'll be an early Christmas Eve...LOL! Either way, they all deserve to be where they are....they're all great guys that work hard at it and do it with such style & grace...including the ones I didn't mention earlier: Tsonga, Berdych, Monfils, Ferrer, Lopez, Nishikori, Simon, and many others.

Yes Airman....my #1 favorite sport to watch...then football. Now golf I still do watch from time to time...love to watch it for relaxation because it always soothes me and helps me fall asleep sometimes on a lazy Sunday when its day 4.

I'm not afan if Wawa vs. Fed. I've only ever witnessed Wawa challenge Fed once, and even then GE eventually rolled over. Rafa vs. Nole is always intense as they push each other to the limits. I would call Murray one of the top clay court players, though. Tsonga is a blast to watch, and he's got a lot of pressure playing for the home crowd, but he's much too inconsistent for a man so talented! Monfils is definitely in it to entertain as opposed to actually winning. That man throws his body around like it's fully paid for. Feli is more of a hard court (indoor) player with most of his titles being on indoor carpet! But I love his ditsy, prima-donna attitude.

Lilly I watched Tsonga play today and he is definitely one of my favs to watch because he plays with so much intensity, but ur correct....he's always been so inconsistent that his inconsistency is the main reason he's not won a title thus far. Monfils is another great one to watch play because he plays with just as much passion (if not more) as Tsonga so their games are always exciting to me....lol! I just enjoy Federer for his graceful manner in which he plays and strangely enough, even though he's probably one of the least passionate on the court, his strategy for winning matches/titles is unparalleled. I started enjoying Wawrinka just several years ago I believe when he beat Federer on grass, can't remember which tournament though, but when he (W) gets in a zone, he's unstoppable....one of the meanest back hands I've seen in today's players. Nadal though I love him for all of it...his passion...his strategy on the court....his strength...and his quickness...he's just always been my favorite :-)!

Tsonga is slow and clumsy. Monfils has some potential but he's dumb and lacks discipline.
I used to watch french open a long time ago, I remember seeing Noah win, it was in 1983. I remember all the 80s players: edberg (good but boring player),jimmy connors the funnyman, borg, lendl, navratilova, etc...

The match I remember the most was the chang Vs lendl game (opposition of pisces styles), it was probably the high point of french open.
I stopped watching in the 90s because I started working and too many new faces.

Tsonga is just a little too much of a drifter. Journeyman player. On his day he can hang with anyone but he said he prefers to go with the "feel" of tennis. I remember the year he went completely without a coach because he refused to be given instruction lol

The biggest miss and waste of talent due to injuries is Del Potro. He makes us tall guys look good.

+1...Definitely Tiz!....Del Potro basically seemed like he came out of nowhere and beat Nadal in the semis and Federer in the finals (in 5 sets...rallied from 1 - 2 deficit) at the 2009 US Open. OMG that was absolutely beautiful to watch...even with him beating my boy Nadal. Del Potro was definitely one of my favs to watch back then! Truly unfortunate that his injuries got the better of him at such a young age and at the highlight of his career.

Right Tiz....the sheer brutal force & speed at which Del Potro hit the balls at his opponents was insane. Never forgot them clocking & watching intensely the records he was setting on his serves back then. Nadal was at a dam lost because of Potro's force...would always push his little body around the court...unwillingly at that I might add...lol! Nadal nor Federer had nothing in their arsenal to fight back with against the force of his balls. And to be so big & tall....amazing talent he had!

Lilly....I really liked Gasquet as well...to me, he had a similar playing style as Roddick....was always good, just never good enough to break thru. And when Gasquet got in trouble for testing positive for cocaine back in 2009 and was suspended from the French Open....well....that was that!

Lilly I'm not sure exactly how much cocaine was found....I believe it was a small amount though and Gasquet saying that he got it from French kissing a Miami waitress at a club or something like that...LOL!

And as much as I liked Martina Hingis, one of my women favs, I also remember her being suspended & banned for 2yrs after she tested positive for cocaine at Wimbledon in 2008, the year before the Gasquet cocaine debacle...geebies...these players sometimes...LOL!

Right Tiz....I only really liked Hingis when she first started playing I believe she was only around 15 - 16yrs old. The first few years she was quick as hell and light as a feather on her feet...adored that about her in her early years! But the older she got, the more self-absorbed she became like she was "owed" a title. In addition, the older she got the worse her game got as well. She almost nose-dived into a nightmare!

I lost interest in tennis years ago, when it all became more about serving aces and power.

But one thing's for sure, I'm not a Nadal fan. 😛

Was that before or after Sampras—

(Lol @ not a Nadal fan...Can't please everyone...Lol!)

I think it was more towards the end of his reign. I wasn't a big fan of Sampras' technique but I did respect him. I guess when everyone else followed his style and started working out that it became very uninteresting for me.

Nadal... put simply, I refuse to support any Spanish sports personality. That country is so racist that I have no interest in supporting either their sports talent or economy.

Gob....Sampras I also respected but was more of an Agassi fan myself....truly enjoyed watching those two battle it out over the years! And even though I respect ur position regarding 'Spaniards', I more so take people as individuals opposed to lumping them altogether as a whole country. I always say 'to each his/her own'.

Sad day today. But life goes on. It's a cold world. I'm reminded of one of my favourite promos from Cotto vs Mayweather 24/7

"Every boxing career begins with dreams of perfection. But in nearly all cases, reality inevitably interferes. At which point it's up to the fighter to discover how defeat can benefit him. Disappointment can crystalize purpose, doubt can fuel hunger, and perfection might yet present itself for the taking again."

Tiz....yes indeed it was! 😢 Watching Nadal play just "average" today was gut-wrenching for me, seems like he wasn't even all there...or just wore out....however, Djokovic was definitely on his game! That was kinda hard to watch for me. I actually preferred Murray vs Ferrer match compared to Nadal & Djokovic....just a bit more exciting overall. Playoffs will go on though ...still looking forward to Wawrinka vs Tsonga and Djokovic vs Murray in semis. 🙂

Gob...point well made. Just a few days ago had a conversation with a good friend about Somalia (dislike for other apparent reasons) and the consensus was we should drop off all murderers there with a sling shot, a small box of crackers, and 1 bottle water...Lol! Spent some time in South America years back and there were parts of the country I just could not stand....but there were also other parts of it that was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking and loved it. I've never been to Spain, but would like to think/remain hopeful that some parts of the country aren't all as bad as u've mentioned. I have had friends of similar race visit/vacation there and had a great time....key word being "vacation". Our individual experiences definitely shape us & our outlook on life.

Is it just me, I literally can't watch the Female international tennis matches.
They grunt every fucking time they hit the ball!
(no it's not that sexy...LOL)

If the tennis racquet is too heavy for you to swing, eat some fucking oats for breakfast or something.

Hey Nova! LOL @ "oats for breakfast"! (Hey I eat oats for breakfast every now 'n again...lol)! And no...its not that sexy at all...sorry..lol...such a distraction for me whenever I watch them play, one of the reasons why I don't watch women's tennis that much these days.

Dang'it Tiz.....I totally missed it today....doing some traveling this week and missed it...ughhh!!!! But am so happy Wawrinka won! 🙂

Honestly it's a game worth watching on replay. It's hard to remember anyone who's put together 2 sets of tennis where they are absolutely in the zone like he did those last two sets.

Tiz.....before leaving I set the DVR to record it for me so I can do just that...."replay it" when I return home in July. I absolutely enjoy watching Wawrinka play at his best! 😉

i'm glad that Wawrinka won today. and not Djokovic. Djokovic is good, but it's nice to see others win, and not the same ones all the time. Plus, wawrinka had great potential.

Murray is not as bad as Djokovic though, but i see the placements in Murray and him being Taurus with a virgo rising could imply lots of boringness. and that Djokovic has capricorn rising trine his taurus venus.

naw, Murray is alot easier on the eyes to watch playing, than the most boring player on earth (Djokovic) then i wanted to see his mars, how he goes about it, and it's in cancer opposite to cap rising. although the cancer mars is in 6th house of work work work. that with his aries moon, he's not stopping till he's dropping.
