I would post on some dental forum or something but I don't have time and you all seemed like a good target audience, maybe you had to pay for your kid's ! Anyway, I have to pay $ 2,800 for four wisdom teeth extracted, exposure of impacted canine and bonding. The IV anesthesia is gonna cost the most... like $ 600 wtf. Apparently the doc claims it's $ 3,800 but he's discounting me 25% . Anyway, am I being ripped off? I didn't have much idea of what to expect. He's apparently one of the best in the area. This guy is an oral surgeon. I think I had gotten evaluated by a dentist before and he was gonna do it for like less than $ 1,800 idr, it was a while back but I assume oral surgeon would be a better choice? I never had surgery so I'm paranoid and want the best.

Oral surgeons are going to be more expensive than a general dentist. If you have an impaction, I would go with the surgeon. I've heard horror stories of wisdom tooth pulling (those things are buggers to get out). I personally asked to be put under for the procedure, and I'm glad I did. I had mine done a LONG time ago (1994), had 2 impactions (one was abscessed) and all 4 taken out. At that time I think it was $ 2400 and since I didn't have insurance my mom (thankfully) paid for it.

It depends on the general dentist. Some can be as good as oral surgeons. I went to a general dentist to have my wisdom + impacted tooth removed and she did it well with zero complications. Can't remember how much I paid though, since this was in 2009.

I'm having the same done but insurance is covering some of it

I'm having maybe up to 8 teeth removed and they said about 960 $

All Wisdom. Impacted k-9 brought down. Possibly 3-4 premolars

But my insurance is covering some of the cost

I think my total was more than you

I don't have dental insurance, it's all getting paid out of pocket. Insurance stuff gives me a headache and when I checked it out today it says stuff like the benefits aren't effective until after 6 months lol 😒 How much do you pay per month for insurance? No idea what the average is for an individual or are you getting it through your employer?

Since you waited so long to bring down your impacted canine, how did the health of it look by now? I was told the longer you wait the more bones grow around it and solidifes up there or something?

Jeez so expensive.

Do you really have to have all 4 wisdom teeth extracted? I understand if it's the impacted tooth.

Idk how most people's wisdom teeth remained that have never gotten them removed, but three of my wisdom teeth are impacted, the fourth one partially impacted, and so that thing still erupts little by little and has given me a sore throat and stuff so it needa go! Might as well get the rest done in the process.

Wow $ 2400 for four extractions back in 1994! This actually makes me feel better about going through with the oral surgeon. Thank you 😃

I had mine done when I was a teenager. I didnt pay for it, but that seems expensive. I went to an oral surgeon who had great reviews and he fucked up so...

How'd he fuck up? I read raving reviews on the oral surgeon I'm looking at too but there's always that one review with someone complaining a part of their mouth has still remained numb for over a year since their procedure... I guess someone's always gotta take one for the team and be that one statistic
