It is now December 5th, 2016. And as I write this letter, I am thinking of the current state of DXP - how history will, once again, repeat itself, and how online forum behavior will take a turn for the worse and potentially bleed into our real lives. I have recently taken a trip down memory lane and I have witnessed everything that this generation has already seen up to this point and more. What was once an aimless, open forum 10 years ago, infested with provocative, sensitive, outspoken trolls and stoic people saying "grow a thicker skin," still is to this day...except with more pop, pizzazz, and a whole lot of passive-aggressiveness. Written communication, as we know it, is in danger. And it is rapidly declining as animated pictures are swooping in rather quickly to take its place. This form of communication may very well be the standard 10 years from now. And I fear the ability to speak properly and coherently with others from all over the world will be lost in favor of a different kind of communication or self-expression - a more "creative kind of self-expression" that actually restricts rather than liberates. I am writing this in hopes that you will have some semblance of what written communication is like - to re-introduce the form of online communication that, in actuality, reflects our ability to communicate with others in real life, whether it be our friends. family, or our enemies. It is imperative that you retain the ability to articulate yourselves using unique words, and not common, animated images...to use reason or wit to attack your aggressors and not passive-aggressive memes. With the rise of technology and social media, the future is literally in your hands, and it is your responsibility to set an example for future generations to come.

Best wishes,

Magneto
