My dog ghosts me

My dog will start out in bed with me and then wind up in the living room on the couch. Not sure what's up with that.Throughout the night he will walk the house checking each room where someone is sleeping making sure everything is ok.
So maybe they feel it is their duty to keep watch while we sleep ?
I'm trying not to feel rejected but damn

Mine does the same! LolIf I get up in the middle of the night to pee, he will follow me back to the bedroom and then wait till I'm asleep and bounce out again. Lol It's the thought that counts I guess.

Nope my dogs are clingy. They will wake up and look for me when I go to the bathroom. The slightest movement and they will stare at me. I will sometimes wake up with them licking my face or mouth.

I was laying on the couch watching TV and she was laying next to me. After a while I pretended to be asleep and watched her slowly get up, look at me, then quietly sneak past me to go in the other room.

He texted me the other morning saying "why'd you leave without saying bye to me and Marley ?" And I said sorry I was in a rush I was running late ...
He says "yeah well we'll discuss when you get home"

Beautiful dogs! They look like teddy bears during the puppy stage. A very independent breed. 🙂
She probably thinks this is something she's required to do...stay by your side while you're awake. Once you're asleep, she's off duty. 😄

Before i go to bed my cat goes and hides under my bed waiting for me to close the door and turn off the lights and then really quietly she will come out and up on my bed and I'll hear her purring in my ear it's as if she's saying "now I've got you all to myself" I sleep with one arm stretched out and she will sleep with her face in my hand. She is also obsessed with licking my arm pits, she's sick I should try and choke her and see what happens.

I believe this may be it - they like to protect so they will be on duty watch
I had one that did that, my Sugar Bear, she was an Akita. She would stay in the room with me and sleep at the end of the bed till I feel asleep then she would go out and either sleep right in front of my door or at the top of the stairs, were she could see my room and the front door. I think it's a protective thing, she was always the protector in the pack. Even when we were in the living room she would sleep where she could see us and the front door...like putting herself in the path if anything tried to come in. All my other ones are clingy and have to sleep right next to me all night.
