does a background check equal a possible hire?

Okay so I got a call Tuesday and the manager at Tuesday Morning had told me that I had an interview coming up. She had said if everything goes well then after the interview she would submit a background check, so bring two forms of identification.

Well I went on a job interview Wednesday and after the interview they had submitted a background check for me! Does that mean I got the job? The manager had talked to me like an employee and not someone she was just interviewing. She also went into detail about how the store is run and she told me about the company. I am so anxious! Also the interview had lasted an hour and she had asked for references and I had put stuff into a computer. I also signed a bunch of papers too!

I actually have a clean background!!!! I am so excited to finally have a job again.

The company has to pay for a background check so I'm sure they wouldn't shell out the money if that had no intention of hiring you. Congratulations!

Yes I would say that if they took you this far, there's a great chance you've got it. 🙂 just as long as there's nothing on that check but even then I know there are different rules and regulations with what they can and can't look at and do with those checks. Depends on your state.

I can confidently say that my background is clean. The only thing I am worried about is being judged because I don't have bad or good credit. I literally have no credit to my name! 😆

Does anyone know how long background checks take? It's almost a week (counting the weekend)! I'm pretty sure they usually do not run over the weekend too. So maybe it has only been like 3-4 days now...

I think it depends. I had to clear a state background check and they outsource them out. I was hired and working for 3 months before my references got called!
