She didn't learn Spanish after she became famous. She learned it while she was still a child and became fluent in it. The only thing that never went away was her funny Americanized accent when she spoke it, but she knew Spanish and she knew it well.

I don't think she did. She learned how to speak Spanish after she went to Mexico and messed up a few interviews. She wasn't fluent as a child.
Anyone who’s seen the movie knows the Queen of Tejano music wasn’t raised speaking Spanish. She conducted interviews in English, and it wasn’t until the early 1990s that she began taking Spanish lessons.

Yes, she could. She was fluent. Her Spanish just wasn't perfected. There's a difference.
She could hold conversations for the most part, but there would be times where she'd stutter or get stuck trying to remember how to say something in Spanish.
That does not mean you're not fluent. Being fluent in something doesn't mean you never make mistakes while speaking the language. It means for the most part you understand it and speak it fairly well. Which she did.
I'm not sure why you want her to not be fluent in Spanish so bad, but you are very wrong about when she learned Spanish and her level of fluency.
Still, keep lying to yourself though. Whatever makes you feel better. That's a very odd thing to lie about though.....

She learned how to sing in Spanish as a child, but didn't learn to speak fluently, the ability to speak a language easily and very well, until 1994. Which she took lessons for.
My wife is half puerto rican and the majority of women i've had serious relationships with before her were either part latin or carribean
