Sorry to burst your bubble but drinking too much water flushes essential electrolytes out of your system. The human body really only needs to drink about 64 oz (1900ml) daily. That includes water found in other liquids and in food.

If you're still thirsty, check electrolytes and blood sugar.

I'm pretty sure that OP is not talking about extreme amounts of water. Throwing off electrolyte balance takes a lot of water. Water intoxication is pretty rare unless one has extreme drinking habits.

"It takes about 6 liters of water to kill a 165-pound person, according to a YouTube video recently released by the American Chemistry Society. Surprisingly, death by water, or water intoxication as it’s officially known, happens quite a lot. It’s common among young people who challenge themselves to “water drinking contests,” or athletes who mistakingly over-hydrate while training, Scientific American reported."

A gallon a day is extreme.

Oh I didn't read that part. I usually drink around 2,5 liters, max 3. 🙂 I know of some people in my immediate family that definitely don't drink enough water and they often have headaches and are in a bad mood, etc. I think that drinking enough water is underrated and a lot of people still aren't informed about the benefits of it. So I'm happy that this thread exist 🙂

lol I'd rather drink a bit more than less
True 😛
Lol cause I function better when I'm well hydrated specially when playing basketball and having sex lol

THIS is true for me. I find that I get wet faster and more effectively and I am a better kisser because of moist lips and better breath.

I take it im the only one who downloaded the app.

(The notifications on it already stopped working btw)
Which app? The Plant Nanny?
It was called Beber Aqua i think
How dare it get in the way of my Water Revolution! I SAY DELETE IT AND replace IT WITH ANOTHER!

Will do, already on it!

I wish I could recommend a replacement. There were so many to choose them that I went with cute - because logic - and it's been working great for me. But I don't know how you feel about virtual plants that squeak when you tap them with your finger.

Keep me updated on Round 2.

I don't forget to drink water if I'm in the office if I have a lot of clients to see for the day I physically can't drink as much because I am on the go all day. But I do try to drink 64 or plus ounces a day. That's a combo of tea without sugar, water and kombucha. I stop drinking at 5 pm so that when I leave work at 6 my bladder is empty. Otherwise my commute home will be hell. Then I'll finish drinking when I get home.
Sounds like a plan! ? I need to get me some kombucha. Have you felt any specific benefits from drinking it consistently?

I just like the way it taste. I do hear it suppresses your appetite, could be true. Im not certain. I don't like juices or sodas and don't always want to drink water and I like to drink things with nutritional value. My fave brand is the healthade one, the cayenne cleanse.

A gallon a day is extreme, unless a person is doing high intensity training.

1.5-2 liters a day is plenty to stay hydrated

It depends on how much you weigh and your activity level. 2 liters is only enough for a person who weighs 134lbs. And 1.5 is only enough for a person that weighs 102lbs.

A lot of this is based on a 1946 study that was misinterpreted. Humans evolved to be able to handle a bit of dehydration; and over hydration is just as dangerous.

Considering the availability of water and our available food sources in the modern world, we probably get as much water as we *need* by drinking a few glasses of water a day and eating a healthy diet. Obviously, exertion and relative temperature are going to make you want to drink more.

You wanna drink more, fine. Just don't let your pee go clear.

Also, cells in the body needs water to communicate with each other. If you're not drinking enough water there will be an imbalance in your body due to the poor communication of the body's cells/organs.
Absolutely!

I'd venture a guess that most people are likely dehydrated than over-hydrated. Heck, the statistics in fruit and veggie intake of the average american is utterly ABYSMAL.

The best thing about the app is that it suggests water based on the weight and acitibity level you enter in your profile. It will also remind you to drink throughout the day and it will even warn you to space out your drinks (if you input too much at once.)

So, in the end, it's a POSITIVE addition to one's life. I don't see myself stopping any time soon. I wish the government would warn against consuming soft drinks as much as it allegedly does water, weed, and vitamin C. Heh.

Cheers!

I'm killing my plant on Plant Nanny already ?
LOL

Don't judge yourself too harshly. I'm on my third plant (two successfully fully grown), but it's a learning curve. You'll get there. Besides my smoothies, tea, and orange juice, I only drink water, and even then it's water that I drink the most. I'd say, generally, I drink three cups of water to one cup of anything else (so water makes up a larger percentage of my liquid intake.)

How much water are you recommended to drink?

Thirsty? Then you're dehydrated! Drink more water! ? I have downloaded an app about a month ago to remind me to drink water and to help me keep track of how much water I drink. It's recommended I drink 2,377 mL a day (sometimes I go over.) I feel more energized, I am less hungry (so I actually feel like I'm losing weight), my SKIN! OMG! My skin is GLOWING!

Downside? I relieve myself (practically clear in color) every half an hour or so. That's rough when you're at work and you feel everyone is keeping track of your restroom visits. ?

At first, my skin broke out and looked irritated when I began my water journey, but I think that's because my body was flushing out "toxins." Now, my skin is soft and shiny.

So this is my public service announcement to encourage you all to DRINK MORE WATER! In a world of sugary drinks, coffee, and alcohol- it's so easy to not get enough just-water!

I'm probably going to aim for 3,785 mL (1 gallon) and see how I feel. But for now, I feel FABULOUS! *hair flick*
does the app notificatiob make the sound of water being poured into a glass? ?

i'd say add some spirulina (presslings) to that and voila!
Hahaha! Not the one I use! It makes this happy 'POP!' noise like a bud on a plant just blooming. ☺️ I'm going to play around with infusing fruits and veggies.
oh lol ok mine swooshes ...i deinstalled it after a while though cause damnnn i could not keep track. when i get to work i will make a coffee and fill a liter jar which i have on my desk and it's a constant reminder. at home it's tea.

fresh mint; rosemary and citrusy fruits go well together; also cucumber and fresh ginger root. i like to switch it up with a bit of elderflower sirup. cause really water is kinda boring lol. good luck and stay constant!! cheers

I'm inspired! I stole some fresh mint out of my boyfriend's home's garden and put it in my water. Now I won't look back!

Cheers!
