Nobody knows, and even if the person told us what gender they were, I would not believe them.

Yeah, I guess that is what bugged me the most...I really liked some of them too and thought they were real!! It still blows me away! Oh well...

I'm still trying to determine if the IP addresses are 100% reliable in determining if one person has posted under all of these usernames. Suzy-Q has told me that she has only posted under these usernames: SUZYQ, WONDERBOX, YOUR MOTHER, SUNFLOWER.

It could be possible that someone IP addresses are being reused by people's ISP. If this is the case then some people are being wrongly accused.

I only bring this up because I can't guarantee the IP address - username connection as being 100% reliable. And I don't want more problems to arise out of people being falsely accused.

Alright, well, if I have falsely accused anyone, then my apologies to that person. I will stand corrected in the event that I've been wrong.

I don't know, I'm confused...whenever I click on ANYONE else's IP number, it shows me the last 100 messages they've written, and only ONE username. Which makes sense. But when I clicked on suzy-q's IP number, it showed all sorts of different usernames (all of which I listed) for the last 100 posts she wrote. So I really don't know what's going on, and I'm not a computer expert so I don't "get" the whole IP #/ISP deal.

I definitely spoke too soon, but I just said what my computer was telling me. I wasn't trying to incriminate people randomly. I still don't know what to believe.

I think it's very likely that not every user with the same IP address is the same person. From the AOL website:

Q. Can I use the IP address of the request to track a member's access to my site?

A. No. Because AOL uses proxy servers to service the requests made by members, webmasters see the IP address of the gr server, not the DAHA of the member in their web site log files. The problem with trying to use the IP address to track access is that there may easily be multiple members assigned to a proxy server. All of the member requests would appear to be coming from one member if you assumed a relationship between member and IP address. In addition, members may be reassigned to a different proxy server during a session. See also Network Info.

If this has in fact all been a mistake (with the exception of the four confirmed aliases), then I'm glad; that's what everyone was hoping. Maybe we can just make it so that everyone has to submit an email address to dxp? And then posters would only be able to have one username, thus avoiding all this...confusion. Just a thought.

So...IP numbers change and sometimes you get the same one as another person.

I don't see how you can avoid looking like a Nazi phoenix - this kind of thread would be offensive enough even if you did get the information right. Who made you board monitor? What gives you the right to post inflmatory information promoting the exclusion of certain members? How would you feel if someone put this post up and included you in the list? Did you even stop to think in the midst of your self-righteous fervour for 'truth' that maybe, just maybe, you might be way off the mark.

Damn me, anyway! Now it is hilarious to me...since I know that there was a prob with the profile page...but, at the time...I thought it was a ploy against me...initiated by Suzy Q!
