*****WARNING: THIS THREAD MAY BE OFFENSIVE TO SOME. AND I BET THEY'RE STRAIGHT******

Gay people; the flamboyant girl-inside-a-boy's-body ones; Ever noticed that nothing - and I mean NOTHING - seems to bother 'em?

Every one I've briefly encountered in real life has always fit the stereotype on TV: manic; out-there; baggage-less; FREE.

Which is FAR FROM a bad thing, because they've all been, well, gosh darn happy. GENUINELY happy, too.

Happier than us straight folk :o

I mean - sure, they're cheating in the whole "love" thing in that they don't have to deal with most of the bullsh** the opposite sex seems to come out with from time to time (yeah - misoginistic - whatever), but I can't help but feel that it's much deeper than that.

That the happiness really is them.

Because lesbians ain't as happy. I've come across a FEW who are, sure, but it's more common to happen across a happy gay guy.

AND you're more likely to meet a lesbian that went, well, lesbian because she was sick of dealing with "boys" than you are a gay guy that was sick of deaing with "girls".

I mean I've never ever seen Prince Pisces make more than ONE INSULTING POST on here when clashing with another dxper!

So what the fuck is the secret?

My guess? Attetion: hyper-masculine or no, you can't deny that flamboyantly gay guys are FASCINATING.

You know - you may think "wow -he's definitely the bitch in the relationship" but even with all the p**sy in the world at your beck and call deep down you know:

That "bitch" is happier than you lol

Oh and for people who don't crave p**sy, gay dudes' egos still get stroked from being, well, a hit with the ladies.

Go figure.

DISCLAIMER:

I AM NOT ADVOCATING BI-CURIOUSITY. MERELY THINKING ABOUT ANAL-SEX (hetero or homo) MAKES ME WINCE.

IT WAS MERELY AN OBSERVATION.

We don't know what they are behind closed doors... They could be mean mofos

Prince might be into S&M for all we know!

I think it's just their "camp" quality that make them appear happier...

I don't know...

Very VERY good point.

Still, from all the abuse Prince P has taken from some less than open minded (MALE) dxpers, he always comes out looking an angel.

Never has "LOL" been more powerful

I wouldnt say it was a Facade when they were being flamboyant, as they were being themselves, but obviously they were not actually letting go of the things thats they acted like they were letting go of. I have seen one of my gay friends cry and i mean literally break down about the fact they have fat ankles WTF?! im a woman and i dont cry about my ankles! another because he was "too old to be gay". I am definately not a girly girl and both those guys were far to over emotional and catty for my liking. Just my personal experience, but I dont like women so i dont want to hang around with guys that act like them. If you want to be my friend, Man the hell up! (thats goes for straight guys and women too 🙂 )

I don't know, maybe it's just the UK. Here, you can go days without meeting a happy person.

Maybe that's why the happy happy gay thing stands out to me

OMG have you being to the UK? jeeeeeeeeezus! No offence there Libra sun

I am IN the UK. And I doubt libsun would be offended. Everyone feels it (the nationwide vibe of unhappiness) whether they'd admit it or not.

its cause we know how to have fun 😛

I will say that all of my male gay friends who are COMFORTABLE and OUT about their sexuality and preference, truly are the most fun, engaging and interesting people I know. As with human beings in general, they have their good and bad days too; however, some of them I've been around a long time, and they just really don't let things get them down too much.

Conversely, individuals I've known who are gay, but not OUT, they were not happy people. I can only imagine how difficult it is to juggle two lives to try to be one way with family and friends, and then have a whole segment of your life you can't discuss (or won't discuss) for fear of...well, whatever that fear is. It sucks to me that in this day and age there are still those who feel they can't - for whatever reason, come out and just - BE!

Perhaps that's been your experience with gay males, but that hasn't been my experience, and with that being said, while I have nothing against men dressing up as women if that's what they chose to do, I don't necessarily thing that's "funny/hilarious." I was speaking more in a real life sense; versus comedic skits. In respect to "ineresting" of a homosexual vs non homosexual, again, everybody's personality is different. I'm sure there are serious, non funny homosexuals, just as there are interesting and fun non homosexuals.
I'm rambling now, but needless to say, from my experiences, the gay friends of mine are interesting, fun and relatively carefree and a joy to be around. I can't always say that about my hetersexual friends - male or female.

I knew (actually dated a couple before they came out! lol) a few gay guys from back in school and once they were out, they were life and soul of the party. But i have also seen what happened when the laughter stopped and it wasnt pretty!

i would not want to know if somebody i dated had their coming out after being with me. idk - my ego would probably have a dent or two lol!

I decided to take it as a compliment, "they dont usually like women, but they couldnt resist me" lol. They were quite obviously in the closet when they were at school, but i'll date anyone, a girls got to eat 🙂

But if gay men are so happy then why do they identify with Judy Garland, Liza & all those crazy, tragic singers who have lived hard, loved hard, suffered (hmmm..hard).

UMmmmm....

Back on track here. The interesting thing is how similar a committed gay relationship sounds like a hetero's as far as the emotions & common complaints go. My gay friends who are couples bitch & moan about the same shit we do. He/she is a slob, he/she doesn't listen when you want to talk, who sleeps in the wet spot (s). Think the happy ones are single. 😉
