How do you even know you're on their restricted list? Maybe they just don't post often and when they do post it's all public?

i used to see the posts before, now everything is hidden. maybe it is hidden from all, i don't know.
I don't think it's disrespectful at all, nor should anyone care if they got on a restricted list or not.
Why does it matter, and why do you care?

Why does it matter, and why do you care?
i care because this person is not a stranger that randomly added me.
I don't have fb but could it be she/he has contacts who talk frequently about unimportant stuff (like what they ate today)? And he/she is ashamed of it?

How do you do that...I'd like to restrict a few people?
On facebook, go to the lock icon at the top right. Choose "see more settings" at the bottom of the drop down menu. On the new page, on the far left, choose "block". At the top of the page for Blocking options is "Restricted List". To the right is "edit list". Click on it and you can add people to that list. They will only be able to see anything you set to public viewing, not anything else.

But why does it matter if they don't want you to see everything? Obviously they don't trust you to be a part of their more private posts. So what? It's just FB. Do you call and tell that person every detail of your life? Probably not. Should that person be offended that you don't? No, that would be silly.

it's not just some private posts, it's hiding the whole damn account, you can only see the profile and cover pic, and couple groups they are part of. i just think if that person has added you and then decided to hide practically everything from you then what is the point of adding you in first place.

i don't think so and like i mentioned before i don't know if they have everything hidden from everyone, just i thought it was weird.

If you unfollow them, can they still follow you? ...and will they know you unfollowed? .. I'm not looking for any guilt trips from them, I just don't want to see what they eat for breakfast lunch and dinner, nor find out which family member they're fighting with this time.
i have unfollowed all, except couple of them. i go to their timelines whenever I feel like and don't get notified of anything.

i do get your point, and i would be less bothered if some did this than some others.
It's simple. Maybe the person is a paranoid weirdo and they restricted you. Or, maybe the person got tired of, or offended by comments, critiques, arguments, etc. that you might have said to or about them concerning their posts. Either way, you've been restricted. Does it really matter enough to get offended? If you want to know, ask them.

funny thing is we have had zero interaction over fb actually, even before the timeline being hidden. but yes we have a history and we went our separate ways, but no ill talks, no drama, nothing. i am also not that offended maybe just little irritated. but again i don't know what is going on in that persons life now and maybe he has wants to stay private. i am cool. i just thought of whether i should also hide everything from this person so made this post. i haven't hidden anything btw.

You're still in a bit of shock about it. That's fine, and it's expected.
It will pass, though. The important thing is to not block it when it wants to. 😉

Good!
It means that it's best to not interfere when a difficult situation resolves itself on its own. Sometimes you might get the impression that you need to do something, when all you really need to do is let the matter fade.

yes, agree. this situation is no longer difficult for me. time has passed and i have moved on. also, as a virgo, i am uncomfortable about confrontations. so silence and time works for me.

You should jump off the nearest bridge preferably onto asphalt.
in this case, i have made a quick decision. No. 😛

lol @ someone being mad they can't stalk someone's fb posts.
i am cool. i don't have the need to stalk this person 😛. and if i did, there are other sources 😛. i used to few years ago, now i am good with less information. my point was only why when you add someone, you hide everything from them.
Hm those are games no one has time for..Either you want them on your face book or not. Keep it simple...Like them or hide out however just delete the account solves a problem..Tricks are for kids.

if someone adds you on facebook but then hides everything from you, what should you do? should you hide everything from them too? i hide certain posts from certain people on friends list, but have not hidden the whole timeline from anyone. also not sure if all that person's posts are hidden from me alone, or everyone on their friends list is on the restricted list too. i don't let it bother me much, but then think is it direspectful to put people on restricted list? especially if you are the one that added them.
